Sure.

Maxxpro base was the first model that was released. It is the one Legend's kit is based off of.

It is the lightest of the bunch and and can carry the least amount of payload.

Maxxpro Plus - the biggest difference is found in the rear axle with dual sets of wheels. It has a higher payload than the base, but is the heaviest one of the family. It is typically regarded as a more stable platform thus why its used in other roles like ambulance.

Maxxpro Dash is not equipped with ISS but was designed with rougher terrain in mind. It has a tighter turning radius than Base and Plus and, greater payload capacity, shorter wheel base, a little bit smaller in length and height when compared to the Base and Plus.

Maxxpro Dash DXM is the ISS truck. It does not have TAK-4 which is made by Oshkosh, which did not meet Navistar requirements. As someone said earlier in the thread, the suspension is in essence from Hendrickson. The DXM has a payload capactiy similar to Dash but a weight almost as high as plus. It also shares the same handling characteristics as Dash but affored even greater manuverability thanks to the ISS.

Then there are the other variants liek the Tractor and Wrecker which takes the cab and places it on a the respective chassis. Things get more specific as far as differences and the time line as well, but for the most part, these are the major differences.

I think we should all be grateful that the kit is still available. You all know the deal.

That Tamiya texture paint looks like a good solution for anti-slip surfaces. Did you just paint it on with a brush and then it looks like that when it dries up?

Thanks for sharing your experiences

How pronounced is the anti-slip on MaxxPro roofs? Is the entire roof area covered with anti-slip coat?

Thanks
I just paint it with a brush in 2 coats

The anti slip coat is very light on Maxx Pro and I make mine as the real thing (as possible )

Tak-4 is a retrofit, they simply cut off the old suspension and weld on the new one. They do it for Cougar's, RG-31's (these look insaine) and also with MaxxPro's. Tankfixxer can probably give more specifics but I know for a fact we would send our old trucks (cougars and MaxxPro's) back to Bagram, a week or two later the same truck comes back wearing a new suspension.

We have done most of our Cougars and JERRVs here in country now. I've not seen any of the Maxx Pros or RG31s done that way. Cougar A2 with Independant suspension. One bad ass ride! Since I also work for the company I am VERY biased on the MRAP vehicles!

Not to deviate from the topic too much those are nice builds you got going!
