Hello All,
I do not have a problem with a model that has a little bit of work started on it, About 10% or so is OK with me as long as you show it in the start photo's.
I do have a problem with things that "show up" in a finished build IE: A/M Tracks, Barrels, Figures Etc. Just let us know if you are going to use something else besides what the kit has.
That way I do not get a bunch of PM's about a build, OK.
@ Grendier 37,
I do the the idea of a Phantom in the campaign, Great idea.
@ Sal,
Great Build. I do agree that the mud needs to be different colors. I lived in the south and no two muds where the same .
@Stefan,
Either one of the two builds will be allowed if the M-48 is not been done over 10% so far. I am glad you sign up.
To anyone else that I missed, Great Job so far with your in-progress photo's and your builds.
I should Have some photo's of what I am going to build soon, I hope.
I anyone has any questions, Just PM me,
Cheers,
Bruce

@ Jesse yes that is a great link I read part of that 1 in the past
@ Bruce thanks for the complements and suggestion, Nite Mare 2 now has 4 layers of mud as well as different colors so here it is
some of the colors are close together and are not as prevalent in the photo. Great campaign I had a lot of fun with this build

Hello All,
On Monday the 16th I will be off-line for 24-48 hours for the tech guys to do a checkup on my system and a full backup.
I am sure none of you need me around here for that time.
I will be on and off line for today if I am needed.
Cheers,
Bruce

Hi,
Nice Sherman there, Sal.
Bruce,
Here's my M-48 that the previous owner started. Do you think that's more than 10% done or is it OK for this campaign?
No need to hurry with a reply, that Skyhawk will keep me busy for a while yet.
Cheers, Stefan.

Stefan, good fix on the hyperlink If it were up to me, I'd say you're good to go. But I guess we'll just wait until the bossman comes back.

Hello All,
I am back to bother all of you again.
The techies took longer then they usual to back up all of the data.
I got a new Cannon Camera to take photo's so wish me luck with it. You should never buy anything that is smarter then you.
The manual is on a DVD and is over 2000 pages. I am going to Camera School to learn how to use it this week.
Cheers,
Bruce

Hi guys
@Sal - nice job on the Sherman
Here are some photos of my 48a3 progress. Any comments are welcome
After priming in black the entire model is covered in dark green, and then shaded with a mixture of yellow green
Varnished, detail painting, decal placement, washed and drybrushing
The model will be completed once the weathering is done, which will be when it is placed on a diorama. Well..... onwards with the figures

Alex, welcome to the campaign! You'll find out very quickly that these group builds are an excellent way to share your builds, get advice, and learn the tricks of the masters (of which I am NOT one, but there are plenty of them out here)! Because I don't have a massive stash of kits, I actually find myself looking specifically for kits that will fall into an upcoming campaign...they are very addictive! You'll be just fine with your build...I'm building an AAVP too (check the earlier pages for my build), though mine is without the EEAK. Who makes your kit, and what scale is it? Can't wait to see how it plays out!

Thank you Buckeye, its a Hobbyboss kit, its only my 3rd model I've done so don't think its going to be something fantastic like the others I have seen on here. Its 1/35 scale, my only worry about what I have researched on this model is that its individual track links on it, not had to do that yet but I'm sure I will learn lol. The reason why I have got the one with the EAK pack is that this is part of my own 'campaign' of vehicles from my favourite xbox game 'battlefield 3', doing a humvee right now and the AAVP was my next one so timed well with this.

I just researched the Hobbyboss kit...that sounds impressive! I got the Tamiya kit, and while it serves my purposes (only modeling the top half with all the hatches closed because of a water-dio), yours sounds exquisite! A full interior, EEAK, indie tracks, and PE frets...you sir are a lucky man! The tracks will be intimidating at first, but there are tons of threads here that can guide you through the process. Even without doing research, they're fairly straightforward. I built a kit with indies before I was came to the network, so I know it can be done!
And I don't mean to upset you, but I am SO tired of first-person shooters...I actually returned BF3 before I finished it, if you can believe it

Here's my dated photo. For my first campaign I'm going to stay small and build DML's USMC tank killers. The photo server was busy so hopefully this comes through.

Hi guys,
As I'm a figure painter, I will make a marines in Afghanistan based on Masterbox first 1/35 set on Irak. At the time they were released, I've read many reviews that killed this set, because of missing parts, innacuracies misleading artwork etc. But the poses are really good ! I especially like this one :
So I decided to upgrade the above figure myself. I want to make a Marpart desert scheme, like this one :
In this respect I need help from a website where I can find good and precise references on the camo and equipment used by the marines. Does anybody here know where I could get this information or if this website really exists ?? The only things I found are pictures taken from news real, where you don't have explanation, neither full vision of all the sides of the soldiers.
It's funny to see that you can come up with 50 detailed books/websites on WW2 German or US uniforms, giving you details such as the matchbox color of the US airborn between june and August 1944, but nothing (to my knowledge) on modern forces.
Many thanks for you help.
Best,
Julien

Hey Julien, I think this might help you:
http://www.onesixthwarriors.com/forum/attention-detail-1-1-talk/71838-modern-marine-individual-gear-equipment-examples.html
I know what you mean about the lack of information of modern equipment and colors, and this was a lucky find on my part. No color schemes are given in that link, but a quick search on this site and you'll have all the colors you could ever need. Hope this helps!

the marpat isnt going to be easy. im doing a 200mm figure right now with it and its even hard on that. if you search this site for marpat, there is a tutoral on how to paint it if you arent sure.

Frankly, I browse the website, and the potential combination are infinite....
Would it be accurate to start as a reference with Alpine 3 rd striker brigade figure in order to depict a US modern marine soldier (at least for the basic uniform and vest), and then adding combat gear ?
Best,
Julien
