hello,
I'm remembering the movie "a bridge too far"...
And I can remember british paras (Sean Conneery and others) hiding in houses while the german are patroling the street.
My idea of a diorama would be british soldiers hiding in the upper level of a house while german soldiers are entering houses to search them. I'm thinking of an undamaged house, where no fighting has taken place yet.
Is this realistic ? Or would the combat have taken place before ? Did the german need to search the houses of the area that way ?

hi, I think it would be a great dio because it gives a kind of tension. The Germans can't see what the British are doing upstairs, You can make the Brithish officers hiding behind a falen table ready to attack. I think it's realistic enough and it would be a great if you can make it!!
Good luck

PenPen,
realistic.......YES !!!!
General Urquhart got trapped on Sept. 18 in a house (in Arnhem at the Zwarteweg 14) on the first floor...the house still exists. There was no fighting in that part of town when he was trapped. The first fighting happened when they tried to break out.
Excellent dio idea....and very wel suiting for this campaign !!!

Laurie,
The houses at that time were still pretty much intact. So that's what you have to go for.

They even made a model after that house :

Ofcourse you'll do some more research now you know where to look for Maybe it's a nice idea to write a little story about the atmosphere in that attic when the Germans where in the streets

Thank you guys !!!
Now I need to look for the figures ! The house will be scratchbuilt, but it won't be complete in the scene.
I still need to refine the ideas...

Thats a very good idea. The tension would be to much to bear. I wouldn't be surprised if someone who looked at it had a heart attack!
