They arrived on April 4 2009, and the bar armor was already fitted for their first operational use on May 12 :
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x9aniy_premier-engagement-operationnel-du_news AFAIK 3 have been deployed in Afghanistan, but I'm not sure that they all have been fitted with the bar armor kit (maybe 2 out of 3)

the camo under the slat: what a challenge!
And i thinks we have to change the radios and anti IED antennas. So less photos, not an easy project.

I noticed a couple places the Bronco Buffalo is listed as "2006-2008 model" Hopefully that means that bronco might release a second boxing with slat, additional armor and or CROWS?

The Buffalo is fitted with a Mack ASET AI-400 450HP turbocharged engine. You'll find some specs here :

Pretty impressive looking kit. They've even included the Canadian markings.
Correct me if I am wrong but the Canadian version with the BAE produced bar armour is the Buffalo A2.....there are visible changes (i.e... the Gyrocam) and other upgrades on the Buffalo A2 since the original Buffalo. The Canadian Buffalo A2 with the bar armour was used in Afghanistan.
I think there were 14 Buffalo A2s purchased for Canada in 2009 to supplement the original five Buffalos deployed in 2007.
The kit will need a bit more to convert it to a Canadian version than just changing the antenna mounts but it looks like the majority of the required parts are included in the kit....alternate rear crew ladder configuration and alternate front and rear towing hook configuration. If both types of arm cameras are included a true Canuck version will be a done deal.

So almost everything except the antenna are included
cheers
One of the serious problems in planning against Canadian doctrine is that the Canadians do not read their manuals, nor do they feel any obligations to follow their doctrine.

Works well then, the A1's were in country for a longer time frame than the A2's.
Are there any pics of the A2's deployed in the sand box?
Anyone,
Frenchy?
cheers

Anyone,
Frenchy?
In the Iraqi sand box

:
These two A2s (or maybe it's the same A2 in both pics...) belonged to Company C, 3rd Brigade special Troops Battalion, 3rd Advise & Assist Brigade 1st Cav. Division near Basrah in June 2011 :
PS : I believe they are A2s, but I'm no expert

I took some pics of the US A2 that landed in KAF around xmas 2008. Still had to install the bar armour on it.
Have yet to see a Canadian Buffalo A2 pic from the 'stan.
cheers

My dad served in the EOD for two tours. I can't think of a better present than building one of these for him. It's on my list.

I stand corrected

After comparing these pics to some A2 pics like this one :

or this one :

it appears that the the 2 Buffaloes in my previous post are
not A2s....I had told you I was no expert

So I guess a quick ID between the two is the front bumper - A2 has the headlights in the bumper rather than on top. And that hose reel on top of the crane perhaps. The one here that I took photos of is definitely an A2 then.

I think it is very difficult to convert the early Buffalo to be A2 because almost 90% details are different.
eg: A newly designed bumper, larger hatches on the top, different size windows, different axle and wheel rims, different tail nights, different exhaust pipe, different interior cushion.
There are some excellent on-line photos for Canadian examples, see below link.

Yes you are right, lots of differences between them.
Those pics were taken at the Citadel in Quebec City LOL.
Thanks for sharing!

The easiest way to tell an A1 from an A2 are the wheels. On the A1 the rear wheels are different then the front wheels. On the A2 all the wheels are the same. They did this so that all that was required was one type of wheel and tire assembly to replace any wheel. There are other differences but this is the easiest and fastest way to tell them apart. I drive by the plant where they are built everyday and I have many friends that work there. Inside info.
