I agree. Fantastic model. About slat armor? Slat is no big problem. Problem is good reference pictures.

It looks an outstanding kit. I'm really impressed by some details such the seat belts and the styrene wheels

I'm not very keen on US modern vehicles, but I could make an exception for this

Cheers

Looks absolutely beautiful! Glad to see the plastic wheels that they've been using in their kits lately.. and I wish other companies would try to do the same. I'm also glad I don't see too much PE everywhere

Can't wait till it hits the stores.

This looks fantastic, and its definitely more in my price range than the Vajra offering.

The problem with Rubber tires is that occasionally paint does not adhere properly to them, and on older kits the rubber sometimes melted the plastic it was touching.

iv heard about the problem with the possibity of the rubber tires melting the the placitc i think by painting the rim completely helps and adds a barrier

They are hard to paint in a decent way, if you need to glue them you'll have lots of problems. It's quite difficult to remove mould seams and flashes. On average their details are softer than those which you can notice on styrene ones (look for exemple how is nice the "Michelin" logo on the Bronco kit). They're made on black vinyl to depict the tire rubber, but if you look at the actual tires, they don't look black, they are dark gray, so unpainted vinyl tires don't look too realistic. List but not last, vinyl is an elastomer polymer so during the time could be cracked

It would be nice to have a new better kind of vinyl to reproduce those details but nowadays, except maybe the rubber of latest DML tracks, material is awful

Just my opinion anyway

That would be awesome.

Change the antennae mounts and a few other small details and you got a Canadian version

Agreed

I also like the way they did the mud guards, pretty convincing.

As you can see it's not just a US vehicle

I think (on the Canadian ones at least) it's more of a bar armour than slat unfortunately; not sure if this would work out well with photoetch. Milo, I can send you what I have anyway - it will be better than nothing!

Yup, The RPG cages on Cougar's, RG-31's and Buffalo's are all this style of bar armor. I'm not positive but I believe the Husky is as well. Perhaps brass or styrene square rod could be used with pre cut PE brackets?

Also saw this the other day and found it appropriate for this thread.

Hi Milslav,

the Photo-CD from Bob Skipper contains tons of excellent material on the Buffalo. You can order one and also do the EFP armor blocks and the CROWS RWS. I would order one kit for my Varja model.
