Yes.. I saw it this morning and ordered one.. and looking at the sprues, I get the feeling that it is a more "builder friendly" kit than the Panda offering.. for one thing it doesn't rely heavily on PE.

Thanks for sharing

I am very impressed with this one

I like the option of a Mk 19 over an M2, and it looks like some things were simplified for ease of build, Like the frame

I just pre-ordered 2 for my collection.

I want my JERRV in plastic now!

It looks pretty nice. I will wait for a review or build log before I decide between the two. I can't tell if they included radios and such (which Panda missed). There are Vic 2 intercom system J-boxes on the sprues though, that is a good sign.

Yes, those test shots were posted here too back in October. It does look like an easier build.

Also, it looks like it has the panel lines below the doors.. which if I remember correctly, Pascal, you had to scribe on yours.

I'm curious as to how well or not it goes together vs the Panda kit. I already have the Panda M-ATV, so I'm not as interested buying it. I know the Panda kit is a bit on the rough side, but nothing show stopping and not a bad first ever kit.

From what I can see, and please correct me if I'm wrong, it appears to be the Panda kit with a few changes made to simplify things. That, of course, wouldn't be all that shocking considering their plants are probably in the same manufacturing complex!!

Dear Kurt/Big A fans,

The M-ATV is our first product entering the 1/35 section. It is the longest development time for us (except F-16 series). More than 18 months of time with a team of peoples were working on this type of model kit series.

We have been learning from the ground on the 1/35 model kit requirement (unlike the 1/48 aircraft product).

We have a design concept in mind, keep the kit simpler (sorry M-ATV is not a simple vehicle, so it is not a one-day model!) and NOT to use multi-media material as small as possible. This design concept is not the common approach of major player in 1/35 section.

One of the reason why we choose this approach is we interview with customer (builder) that they prefer to use plastic parts instead of PE unless it is necessary. Unlike 20 years ago, the aftermarket was very difficult to find/order w/o internet. Now, just a few clicks, you can locate the PE set around the world.

This leave the room to aftermarket company to provide different types of upgrades set to fit different customer specify needs.

As for M-ATV, now, we have 2 options for the customer to select. Of course, it looks similar - a 1/35 replica from the real vehicle. But the implementation is somehow different.

Another obvious trend is happening now. Modern AFV. It helps to attract more new modeller into the hobby as it is seen on the TV and movie onward.

The M-ATV is supposed to have a replacement option for HUMMVEE, we will see a lot of variant coming out soon.

At last, hope you like our work and we will keep on improving the design (2nd kit is M109A2 and 3rd is MAXPRO ...)

Regards
Raymond

Raymond,
I only have one thing to say ... thank you for your efforts for producing modern, that is, current kits!
I can't wait seeing the Maxxpro arriving too.

Yes - good luck to you in your new enterprise, Raymond. As a longtime Modern fan, I'm delighted to see a new company putting out modern subjects. I've heard good things about Kinetic's aircraft, and I'm looking forward to getting hold of the M-ATV.

I like the idea of it being designed for simplified building with very few PE parts. And I believe that all kits should be basic to begin with so that even beginners can build them.. and then the more experienced modelers can go crazy with AM PE sets as they wish.

So, will we see the Maxx Pro sometime this year, or is it still in the early stages of development?

Thanks for comming here to explain your way of modelling production.
At this time i waited your M-ATAV to see which one is the better and better for me include accuracy (perhaps the most important). As you say , with internet , the hardcore modellers can find tons of upgraded sets, resin wheels...
For an expensive kit like bronco's Humvee i accepts the price when i see how accurate and detailled it is.
But impossible to pay for an inaccurate kit with a poor detailling.

Stephane
ps: a T80 or a cougar 4x4 could be a great plastic model too

Thank you! Looking forward to my first Kinetic kit. Some of my wingy friends have been very complimentary of your planes: hopefully this will be to the same high standard and looking forward to more modern vehicles.

Good Luck with this new product line

Thank you, Raymond; sounds like a winning formula for a new model company.

Now, about that 1/35 Fenneck...

Looking forward to that MaxxPro.

Anyone have any issues with broken parts? Mine came and one bag holds 5-6 sprues. I had a few broken parts. Luckily everything was easy to either glue back together or replace with evergreen

I don't have it but the side by side comparison with the Panda at PMMS makes me think there are some dimensional issues with the Kinetic. It looks like the hood and the cab are oversized as well as the wheels.

Who could check on a real one and confirm which one is the most accurate dimension wise?

Already done at Missing-Links.

Body

Tires

Bottom line, the Panda version is all around a better model and deal.
