So I'm in the final stages of my first diorama in about 18-20 years, when I suddenly had an epiphany. What started out as a Canadian Sherman of the Lord Strathconas in Italy, turned into a late Tiger I of the 505th Heavy Battalion in Eastern Europe/Germany! After looking at the poses of the figures, I realised that those accompanying my Tiger, which I built 3 years ago, better suited the scene. Luckily it's only a matter of swapping out the vehicles and changing a sign.
Still, it's interesting to me just how much a plan can take a sudden turn.
Pics to follow in a couple days.

Raises the question how sure you were of your original plan! I can understand the change of a figure choice or pose, but a change of this magnitude is a whole new diorama in my books.

Maybe the Dio is about a fluidly changing battlefront?
It might be a British Cromwell in a couple of days!
Looking forward to the pics Mat

yes i have
diorama i made started as some german soldiers with their tank outside a farm house
but then as i was building base it turns to a street scene of a sort of german supply depot
the building that was the farmhouse i now just say its in france somewhere (similar style outside)
wont post pictures cause the diorama will just get nit-picked pulled apart on here

Nit-picked and pulled apart .... no not really. In my opinion, Id call it constructive critism. Sometimes points are made to help a person look at their model with a different perspective and hopefully learn from it. Planning is a very important part of a successful model, believe it or not. But its your model, you decide what you want to do and if you want support and feedback.

Work where I work, you'll have sudden change of plans at least 6 times a day.

Awww come on mate, sure some guys maybe get a little anal about some things but on the whole most of the feedback around here is pretty positive.
I know I've learned heaps from the comments that people make.
