Not as far fetched as one might think, there was a HVSS M4A3 Firefly, it just never made it to combat. The Jumbo version however is quite a new concept... Great work! Will it be in US or UK service?

Cheers!

Interesting concept, like it,
but although the US did use the 17pdr Sherman in limited no's, SFAIK, the 17pdr didn't have a HE shell, so wasn't best suited to the Jumbo's up close & personal, bunker busting role.

Now an E8 jumbo is very plausible and a good idea to boot!

The surviving Jumbos were refitted with the HVSS suspension and flamethrowers for the invasion of Japan. An alternate idea, coming out of SHAEF was to put the Jumbo back into production (had the war in Europe continued) fitted the HVSS suspension and the turret and 90mm gun from the Pershing.

An interesting design amd build.

Where did the resin boxes on the back of the turret and rear hull come from?

Hi Andrew,

I like what you've done! The only thing I'd change is the periscope in the former MG operator's hatch in the hull. Since Fireflies filled this space with ammo, there shouldn't be a periscope in the hatch - just a closed flap. Are you planning to add a first-aid box on the rear? I'd suggest track armour too, even though it's a jumbo. (Even the thick Churchill often got covered with spare track! You can never have enough steel in the way of incoming rounds...)

Looking forward to seeing it in paint!

Tom
