The Soviet Union manufactured thousands of Tanks and Auxiliary vehicles for a war that never happened, they have no idea what to do with them as decomissioning them would be expensive so they dump them in the woods. Remarkable.
Apparently Russia has a tank strength of around 20,000 modern vehicles, (not including the second line T55, T-62 and T64) and the only have enough money and resources for 10,000 vehicles so they have no idea what to do with the others. Remember that report last year about Russia dumping 300 T-80's and T-90's in forests fully armed and fuelled

Thanks for sharing this.
I agree with DJ, A waste of material. But better they sit there than in the hands of someone who will use them against our Troops.
Just my 2 cents worth,
milvehfan

Wow,
if you look at the tires on those vehicles you will notice very little weathering and use. These were well maintained vehicles. The rest is derilict and vandalism. I would like to the pictures of T-80s and T-90s, armed and parked and forgotten. Iran, North Korea, and a hundred other countries
would like to have those tanks and trucks rotting in the forest. I agree though, better there than being used against my fellow troops.

Lol, look at all of the different shades of green. I never want to hear someone say that the wrong color was used again.

It`s hard to believe that with the worldwide shortage of scrap metal this lot just sits rusting out in the open !.
If the Russian economy is desperate for hard currency why have`nt they contacted someone to shift this lot ?.

Wow, they could arm the entire third world with those. But I guess most of them are used to death and not worth repairing.
http://englishrussia.com/2011/09/06/the-land-of-mystery/ I find their attitude troubling.

And yet people still argue about the correct shade for 'Russian Green'. Looking at these vehicles I'd say anything from lime green to olive drab.

Well, is known that Russian green wears out quite easily
