HI i will be building the kit rommels rod by monogram and i want to use the color the plastic is for my base. the color is a light tan if i need to i can put up a pic here is my ?? b4 i weather it do i need to put on a flat coat i would like to try my hand at oil washes and a oil filter would this work ? i want a very dusty effect and any help with that would also be great and would then like to finish with some chalk THANKS

you would need to put down some sort of clear coating otherwise your washes/filters will wear away and eat up the base color. there is a good link under the "finishing and weathering" stickie that goes over a general order of the finishing sequence.

you dont necessarily have to follow it verbatim, but it will give you a decent idea.
