This is my build for the urban warfare campaign the early part of the build can be seen there.

The buildings are plaster casts I made from Form U Lay plastic moulds and cut and pieced together til I was happy with them.



The rafters are from balso and coffee stirrers and the drain pipes and gutters are from Miniart accessories.



The original idea was to have a group of German soldiers in a last stand stiuation




but I'm now going to use some of the new Minart civilian sets to populate the ruins













The roof tiles are overscale I know but I'm not going to change them now.

Here are the figures. They need a lot of work to sharpen them up.



The cat is from tamiya, the boy with his hand up and the tiny head is from Preiser and the rest are from Masterbox. I gave the boy with his hands in his pockets a pair of shoes as the figure comes barefoot.
The man holding the girl is a conversion of the oldman in the European Civilian set and the girl from the France 1944 set.

The boy with the tiny head will get a new head from Hornet set HH/31 Heads - 2 old men, 2 youths, 1 boy. I'm also going to move his hand so that he is reaching out more to the cat












Not totally settled on the Figure placement yet and I would like to put a woman in there somewhere but can't decide on a suitable one

I reckon that figure placement is dead-on. My 2 cents> I'd put the woman either in front of or behind the old man carrying the girl.

While I was making this I came up with an idea for a new Triptych dio where I show part of a street at three different points in time -first 1940 with the buildings in perfect condition and some German soldiers walking out in the number one uniforms to the admiring glances of passers by, second with Germans fighting Russians through the ruins and lastly with Preiser Women Digging In Ruins figure set cleaning up the rubble at war's end and if I can manage it a rendition of that famous photo of the Soviet Soldier taking the bike from the German woman

Thanks, No secret My camera is a Fujifilm FinePix S2500HD. I shoot outside in neutral light which we get a lot of here in Ireland I use a tripod and shoot at the largest resolution the camera allows 3000x 4000 pixels then I use photo shop elements to resize and run it through auto levels and auto smart fix if I shoot late in the day. I resize the pics to to fit in the gallery

Hi Pat Love the way so much rubble has built that the ground floor of the Dio is nearly on the second story. Nice change using civilians. So war weary that a cat can bring that much joy and focus. Nice Story. Cheers Geraint.
