Hi,
This a long term project, I`m working on it between differens projects.
The first time its was panzer gray but I doint like the end result of it and have it over painted last week in panzer yellow.
There is still a lot of work on this beast to do before its finnished
On the trailer comes the Tamiya Panzer III Ausf L coverted to a Bergepanzer III field conversion.
Sofar I like the result
Ron

Nice truck... Don't you just love the big ones? The only problem is where to store or display them after they are finished. I like the paint chip on the famo and the color looks great. keep posting updates.

Ron-- how did you get the paint chip effect? And, is the Panzer Yellow coloring your own creation or a standard manufacturer color ?
thanks

Great job, Ron!
I think I'll change mine from gray to the yellow, it really does look better.

Ron--thanks for the information on the weathering and highlighting. Have you ever used that salt and water method described in FSM several months ago. I am anxious to try the method on the KV-1 I am painting.
thanks

Thats the purpose of this forum to share things I think
I never used the salt method, I think its diffecult to control how its looks at the end.
But I give it a try on a old tiger that I have :-)

Howdy Ronald-KoK,
Your Famo is looking superb so far, will have to keep an eye on it as you progress. Kit's that size DO take some time don't they?

Ronald, I love the paint chipping . Could you make an article on paint chipping or post your technique in the forums? It's gonna be a blessing for lower forms of beings like me.
Actually, I don't think so. I myself have built the FAMO & if you will devote about 3-4 hrs. a day you will finish the halftrack in.........5 days? 1 week if painting & light weathering included.
Surprisingly these behemoth kits Tamiya offers us are EASY builds.
I think Ronald & everyone else that has built the FAMO will agree with me. I hope.
Cheers!

Hi Fritz,
On page one of this topic there is a short explenation about the schratches (paint color) and my secret recept for panzer yellow
Forgot to mention there use a small brush number 000 orso for the scratches and some patiend.
The assembly of the Famo is easy and quick OOTB, painting is more work then building
#:-)
I have still to build a other one with crane, he`s stil waithing for me to come out of the box
