Been reading up on this over at idf in scale.com and it was produced with the help of Michael Mass, noted IDF guru. This can only be a good thing and let's hope it is the first of many IDF releases to come. Thank you for sharing this Darren. Cheers.

I've been following this too since Michael Mass announced it, I'm very optimistic that this kit will be top class and detailed, waiting to see sprue shots..

It was a while since I bought anything in 1/35, but I'm not going to miss this one... it is my favorite Merkava variant. I wonder how will they deal with plastic ball & chain.

Yeah, it's mine too. If Meng finds a way to mass-produce already assembled Ball and chain for a Merkava, I nominate them for kit of the year hands down. I don't know why I dislike making my own so much, but I'd rather clean 2-3 runs of indy-link track or build a Tauro A7V kit than do those damned fiddly chain and ball parts!
With Meng doing this and a T-90 with cast turret if I find out they are coming out with a T-80BV/U/UD I'm going to fly to their factory to bring them cookies. . .

It was made in cooperation with Desert Eagle Publishing (Michael Mass et al) so I think Meng had really good photos and measurements... We'll see how they did their job soon.

There are already a number of Merkava kits available so I'm a bit surprised they didn't go for something like the Namer. Maybe eventually...

Yes there are a number of Merk kits available, but there are no accurate kits in plastic of the Merk 3, much less the 3D. The Academy Merk 3, which was based on a proto-type, is now old and has quite a few errors. From everything I'm seeing and hearing this kit is a corker, and hopefully if it sells well Meng will continue the line. The word is they are already working on another kit with imput from Desert Eagle (no idea what though) who knows, we may get a Namer down the road.
