Hi Folks,

Finaly getting around to building my Trumpeter 1/35 ASLAV-25.

Will build up the interior starting with the power pack. The engine is a Detroit Diesel 6V53T coupled to a Allison MT653 transmission.

Progress so far...

Getting started on the transmission....

Bear with me as details are changed and more added

Will probably csat this as it also is the motor for the Sheridan and M113a3 that I have in the stash.

Thanks for looking in.

Please tell me you will cast this. The 6V53 NA was used in CDN M-113's.

Fantastic work so far!

Indeed, the 6V53T was also used in all of the Canadian AVGP variants.

Very nice work! Just have to do a Crossdrive transmission for the M113A3 family...

I'd be interested in getting a copy or two myself if you do make copies

Thanks you guys for the kind words

Will do my best on the copies. When we get to that point I'm a big believer in the barter system

Realized I was remiss in not posting some ref. pics to show what I'm trying to get to....

First two pics are from government sites with no photo credit to post. The last two pics are from Prime Portal, Jason Taylor photographer.
These are of an Aussie Lav-25 and a USMC Lav. Have not discovered any big differences yet!

To start this update, this is a ref. pic of the blower followed by my attempt. Also some changes to the valve covers....

Thanks for looking in!

Randy

I'm getting flashbacks to when I worked on M113A3 when I was stationed in Germany...

You can never have enough reference pics.

I have access to the parts manual so if you need a specific item such as the turbo or air compressor I might be able to find something for ya.

The engine oil filter was a "Biotch" to change in the AVGPs when the power pack was still in place!

Thank goodness for drain plugs in the hull!
