I've seen these more than once in dioramas. Also empty soda bottles. I assume they are commercially made. Could someone tell me where and what the range of prices is?

I saw a cooler from Verlinden, it was part of the M1025 vehicle stowage set they just came out with recently. I saw bottles advertised somewhere in clear plastic, but I can't remember where it was...of course I am assuming you are looking for them in 1/35 scale.

You could probably scratchbuild a cooler fairly easily by looking at one around your house. I know that the Academy M113 kits came with soda botttles and the Tamiya ACAV came with soda cans. I think there may be some of these goodies in one of Academy's armor accessories kits. I know one of them comes with mermite cans.

Jan,
Coleman are the brown and orange water coolers you see on most vehicles today. Coleman is just the name of the brand.
CAL35 has some water botels and cans too thatr just came out. As for 1/16th, it would probably be easier to scratch them out of clear acrylic rod from Plastistruct. It comes in red, green, and clear. I think the even have blue. Oh, Midwest came out with there line of plastic and there shapes come on colors too, red, blue, green, yellow, orange, clear, and white.

I'm sorry Jan, in military vehicles. Supply usually issues out 1 or 2 to each section. Or you just go by your own. There is also another company the makes coolers that you see on military vehicles, "IGLOO." You also see little 1 gallon water jugs hanging around the vehicles too.
Blaster, sorry to stary off the topic a little bit!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If THIS is what you are looking for, I remember modeling one of those that came with a Verlinden Vietnam kit long ago. It's the red thing in the bottom picture with Verlinden stuff. It looks quite nice, but is only available in the closed position.

For labels, just download one from the appropriate site and resize. Print in high resolutionon paper and attached with white glue thinned with water.
