Hi Gang, been surfing the net and reading this months Model Military International and salivating over Tamiya`s new T-55 Enigma tank.does anyone know roughly how much this is going to retail at?,i ask as Tamiya seem to follwing DML in their pricing structure (IMHO it seems to be think of a price then TREBLE IT !).
That seemed to be the strategy when the M-51 SuperSherman was released, why was the kit priced so highly when Academy`s is less than half that ?.

IMHO it is`nt THAT bad !,when i built mine i used a guide that someone had posted on this site to scratch-build a perfectly respectable Six-Day War version.
On the subject of cost of the new Enigma kit,i`ve just been on Hannants website and they`re asking for £52.50 for it.I am afraid that in these hard financial times i CAN`T afford that so it`ll have to fall into the wishful thinking part of my life.

Well, Hobbyeasy has it for 26.47 pounds, even with shipping it's a deal.

I'm just waiting for everyone to start selling their Legends, Accurate Armour or Cromwell conversions for peanuts!

Picked up a lovely Accurate Armour Landrover for £26 a few weeks after the HB kit came out. These plastic kits of 'previously only available in resin' subjects are a godsend

Yah Rob, for a change here's a kit that I never got around to getting a conversion for! I've got AEF AND Legend Merkava 3D; Navigator, CMD turret, Commander's T-62M conversions; Terre Models Leclerc conversion for the Heller kit...etc, etc!

I think I paid a few bucks more than I should have, but I really wanted it. Paid about $49 for the kit from Hobby Search. A few sprues are from the T-55A with a few new sprues, so you know the kit contents are very good. Already built my T-55A and the Enigma is going together very well. She really is pretty.

The Academy M-51 isn't junk, and the Tamiya one isn't perfect either. Having built the Academy and in the process of building the Tamiya one, it's the typical Tamiya add glue and shake. The only thing I give Tamiya credit for is they finaly put parts in so you can't look through the turret and see the top of the tracks.
