Thanks Gary, glad that I have that one figured out then. :-)
One last question, regarding pigments, how do you apply them? Dry? With white spirt added afterwards? Or not? Or mixed with white spirit?
I suffered a bit on the pigments, and it took me a while before I got them like they are now. Not perfect, but good enough. :-)
I read different articles about pigments, I think they look best dry, but I'm a bit scared they won't stay then. I tried the different ways, but I lost control when I added white spirit to the mix...
Any advice?
Thanks!
Dave

Dave, Ill try my best man.
First, your right on all tree types of applications. It depends on where your apllying and what look your trying to achive. I personaly dont use them alot on the upper portions of a tank. I use them on tracks and running gear, sponsons and the like as well as lower front and rear. Having said that, i did use them as a pin wash mixed with mineral spirits on my T-62.

I also used them dry in a few areas that needed attention. Around the running gear i apllied 2 or 3 different colors of piments randomly and then touch a spirits soaked brush to the area thus fixing them in place. when dry i dragged a flat wide brush from top down to get the look i wanted. I also used a thick mix of pigments mixed with spirits for the tracks.

When the pigments dried i just brushed off the exces till i liked the look.
I always aplly pigments on a dead flat surface so they adhear properly and its easier to go slow and build up the effect as to decrease mistakes. This is the way i use my pigments, but there are many alternatives to the way i do it its just the way im comfortable in useing them.
I know ive probably forgot something but i hope that helps a little Dave. If you look up and down page 11 youll see what im working with. Ill be happy to help any way i can Dave. Hopefully someone can give you even more methods on useing pigments. Good luck man!
Gary

Thanks for the advice Gary, I'll definitely look into your tips.
Your models look great btw!
In my opinion, the JS II looked best of my 3 afv's - still have some work on the tiger and LVT - but I have a feeling the crowd prefers the look on the Matilda. :-)
I was thinking of entering the JS II for the DMOM competion - just to see how other people like it - but I might use theMatilda for this.
Thanks!
Dave
