Hi John ....I finished my Karl last spring ..fun kit to build ..I see you made the same mistake as I did ..(told you guys the instructions are bad in this area..lol) you have you cannon backed up in the full recoil position....You are lucky to catch it before painting ...I had to repaint parts ....Are you going to drill all those holes in the track teeth??(what a pain)

Rick,
What do you mean all the way in recoil position? Do you mean I shouldn'tve put the spring and stuff in? I can still pull it back some. An what do you mean with the tracks. I haven't really looked at them closley yet.

Tazz, I got this kit from my LHS. It was $70 even. The tracks have me a little scare too but I think I'll be aable to manage. There are stretches of about 6 that are already together then there are alot of indy's as well so it shouldn't be too difficult. There are just a lot of ejector pin makrs on the tracks.

Hi John ...what I meant about the recoil is that when you take the whole gun assembly and slide it into the bottom hull of the kit there is place for it to slide ...I did the same as you and pushed it as far back as it can go ..hiding the big empty space ,but in reality it should be pushed up as far forward as you can go...I have fixed it on mine and I had some pictures taken at a show yesterday as soon as he posts the pictures I post them here to explain better....As for those lousy track ...after sanding out every punch mark on each link ,I drilled a hole in each tooth like on the real one ...not too hard as the hole is circular ..If you look at my pictures on here you might see it ...not sure ...posted along time ago...but I think you can find them if you click on my name ...if not I'll try and find them ..

I'm not sure, Rick said that that's what it was like in full recoil... maybe that's how it goes for reloading....

Nope !! Sorry guys I just checked thru my refrences and it is never all the way back ...I checked thru pictures in Allied &Axis #10 and Bertha's Big Brother Karl-Geraet (60cm)&(54cm) by Thomas Jentz....Maybe during transport I can't make out the picture that well.
Worst part is i had these references next me when I built it and didn't notice it..
