I've been a little quiet recently on the site..... becuase of work & home life. But this weekend I managed to get some good modeling time in. Here are a few pictures of my 98% finished T55.
:-) :-)

I decided not to use any after market kits because i don't think it needs it. I did replace the string with wire to create the chains however.

Hope you like it !! :-) :-)

Howdy sweatydogz,

Just LOVE it! Good paint work, and superb weathering. You're right, the Tammy T-55 really needs no AM parts to become a really good build-up. I have two of them. The first one is in the process of becoming an Iraqi 'Enigma' version (so the AM parts are required ), but the second I intend to build-up pretty much OOB. I will have to cut and paste your pics into my little 'T-55' library for reference if you don't mind?
Good on ya sweatydogz!

Tread.

Sweat:

This is a good looking build!

Is that unditching beam across the rear end a kit part or something you added? Nice touch!

The construction looks well done. I like your base coat and weathering. This is just me,-- but a light shot of dust around the suspension and lower hull would really add some snap to this great build.

Well done sir!

Buy it Venom! Believe me, you won't be sorry.
The mouldings are exquisite (the road wheels are a prime example of that, although they do have 1 flaw). The turret texture is superb. And you can build three different versions right out of the box!
The only real 'upgrade' I would suggest is the purchase of Fruil metal AM tracks. It just makes the model!

Oh, and the JR barrel too I suppose. But I had NO trouble at all building the kit supplied barrel to look authentic. It's a pretty simple barrel compared to something like the Abrams barrel.

mikeli125 I sprayed the whole thing with Tamiya dark green, then added a couple of drops of light grey with the green to give a bit of depth.
Then it was a wash with Burnt umber mixed with black, and finally just picked details out with pastels.
I plan on doing another.....................such a great kit.

Nice job on the kit. What type of wire did you use? I have heard of useing picture hanging wire but have never tried it. Did you do all the work in just one weekend? Good job!

First class modellling sweatydogz. Everything in my opinion is first class. The only thing I would do is to apply a black wash to the ditching beam as well. It looks very clean compared to the rest of the tank. And also a little dusting of the lower hull and running gear. I see you have plumbed all the fuel cells as well!

Looks killer to me.
Nice finish like this model a lot.
Really nice work.
So as everybody says how do you blend in all the stuff which is a big hang up like decals how do you make them look old without all the pastel stuff is their a way?

Again Sweet model
