Alasdair
I checked your pics and think this IS looks great!
I just finished one myself a bit back but it doesn't look as good as this one---Congrats. I can almost smell the exhaust and hear the clanking from this big hunk of steel!
Very very well done.

Thanks Tazz...
the weathering is helped by thr cast texture, the MMP Med Dirt which I used as the 'dust' sits inside the grain very well....
the flat plates have beed 'chipped' away with a blade tip and a slow burr...then painted with a Meth-Sprit slurry mixed with the MMP Powder'Med Dirt' again, left to dry and Hammerite thinners and a firm (not stiff) brush used to wash off, this gets rid of the excess powders as well as removing the 'oil stain' water marks , it also gives a totally flat finnish...use in a vented room !!
Cheers

Amigo--- your turret interior is nothing short of awesome. How did you do the rust spots? I see that the rounds are the correct colors, can you tell us what mix you applied? What basic kit did you start with?
thanks

Alasdair,
Superb work! I have just had a look at the updated pics and they are excellent. The texture that you have made up on the turret is your best work yet. Again I think you have the colouring of these type of vehicles down to a tee as well. Great stuff - I look forward to seeing this babe at the nationals. :-)

To 210CAV...
Sorry missed your post....first thanks for the comments on the 'look'
The Kit was a Dragon JSIIM...I cut it up a bit and 'raised by 2mm, th cutting was not a lot and was mainly track guards and fillits into spaces...added the Jaguar interior togerther with some corrections...wires and layout change...a little disapointed with the turret that came with the Jag resin update set as it was a direct copy of the kit turret (they could of done the additions in 'bit' and saved some time and resin !! and it had not been corrected at the the join and the sides...never mide I build it up with a slurry of CAST'a'COAT which I then covered over with a final coat...nice and easy to work with and as I'm rubbish with putty a better finnish.
The painting is quite easy if you mate the turret together after...It would of been better if Jaguar had removed the roof....the colours are from internal (from a T-34/85) pics I had taken before...ARE THE COLOURS for the rounds correct.??..I think so but I have had to rely on the web for them ...I distrust it mostly as I have been cought out before....I used a general mix bsaed on Humbrol red gloss mixed with some oils
Glad you like
