Quoted Text

I really did not mean to start anything with my original picture of the kittens. Uday's troll post was so nasty I knew it was moderator bait and wouldn't last long. I thought I would post the picture of the kittens to, like I said, take the edge off of Uday's post.

Sorry, I really did not mean to get this thing started.

Shaun

Keenan,

No problem, definitely note your original picture. You are trying to light it up.

And as far as the bombing picture goes, it's actually cute, the caption is bad. That's all.

Hey, where have all the comics gone? I thought we were going to get some more rib-cracking witty repartee? What happened? Kitten got your tongues?....Jim

Since the 'Uday' post is gone, why don't we remove the aftermath of the 'Uday' post and get back to the original content.

Before this thread is removed and at the risk of having my membership cancelled, my wife and I had parents and grandparents that lived through the blitz on London and told us what it was like first-hand. Remember all the concentration camps etc. I have no sympathy with the german nation for anything that the allies did in the Second World War - THEY SOWED THE WIND, SO THEY SHALL REAP THE WHIRLWIND
They started it, we finished it.
It's Trafalgar Day today, any Frenchmen wanna get upset?

I thought I was out of this thread with my dignity intact. I would, however like to make a suggestion. There is a forum on this site devoted to historical discussions. Frankly, this ain't it. If anyone wants to start a thread over in the history forum dealing with whether or not the bombing of Dresden was justified, please take it there. Most of the discussion in this thread has been off topic and really divisive. There is nothing I hate worse than a family fight. Hell, I'll start the thread in the history forum if that is what is needed. I am sure there are opinions out there that should be discussed (Not flamed or argued about) on both sides of the Dresden topic.

I guess all I am saying is that everyone needs to take it a little bit easy with what they are posting. It is a lot easier to think about what you wrote before you click on "submit" than it is to apologize for it afterwords. Trust me on this, I learned my lesson before the "Current Events" forum got killed.

I will get off my huge soap box now. I just want everyone to know that this is a huge international COMMUNITY. I have seen posts that I wanted to hop all over and didn't, because the original post had no place in a modeling forum and therefore did not warrant a reply. In the end analysis, I would hope that everyone would remember what this site is for.

That's all,

Happy modeling.

Shaun

I will delete the post after I am done typing

I agree with Keenan. I'm for the freedom of speech and I don't care what other people say, but I try not to add to the flames. I've seen/heard humor worse than this that people have laughed at. It's just that sometimes it's not the right time, or place to be funny. You don't just stand up and tell a dirty joke in church. I don't know what Uday said, since it was already deleted when I first saw this post. I think the important thing is to get back on topic. Blood is basically red on the outside and dark/black in the middle. I sometimes paint blood on my figures, but usually nothing very bad. It's usually a shot to the arm while they're firing to make them look like they aren't going to give up fighting despite a flesh wound. Sometimes it makes them look bad @$$ I don't have a problem with placing blood in dioramas though. The way I look at it, if you feel uncomfortable placing something in a piece that you feel your own grandmother would shutter about, then don't put it there. If you feel your grandmother wouldn't mind, then put it in there if you want. IMO, war is a dirty business and I think it's better to show how dirty it is sometimes.
