After a long search for a engine, the cheapest i could find in the region of 100 euros was on the jordi rubio site suggested by jimbrae - thanks.
Which one would you go for though

Locomotora BR 60 Alemana
or

Locomotora diesel WR 360 C14
or finally

Locomotora vic 75 Alemana
According to military modelling the last engine is recognised as being the work horse of the wehrmacht bahn.
Im torn for either the first or maybe the second choice. Which one would you choose?

That first one looks killer like it would be a mover of the K5 or ammo (++)

The first locomotive is a normal locomotive with armoured plating which was used mainly for passenger trains. The second one was a shunting locomotive used intensively for shunting and to transport freighttrains over short distances. The third engine was used for all sorts of duties but was originally designed for passenger transport.

You can tell the the difference between a passenger and a freight engine by the size of the main (drive) wheels. Engines which were designed for passenger have big wheels, for speed. Engines for freight have (more) small wheels for more traction.

If you really want a freight engine the BR 50 (BauReihe 50) is a great choice. It is made by CMK in resin but costs a fortune. But rumor has it that Dragon will release one for the end of the year. !!!!! :-)

cheers,
Marc

Perhaps if i was only including the k5 and an engine then the shunting engine would be the best choice as that would have been used with the k5 to take them in and out of its tunnel, but i think the 1st engine would look better with a k5.
Ive seen the cmk engine and its well out of my price range, the cheapest ive found it at was £280.

According to the rumors the BR50 from Dragon should be in the price range of $100 to $120. #:-) Sounds a lot better than 280 punds doesn't it !!??
