Hi all, thought i'd share with you one of my recent figures i've painted. I was working on Bronco's M1114 Frag 5 and needed some crew figures (I've since ditched the Humvee as the paint job came out crap). I was pretty pleased with the crew though. So I present this chap, which is the Legends OGPK gunner, in one of my first attempts at ACU painting:
I haven't got around to finishing the head or boots yet!
Its entirely painted in Citadel Miniatures (warhammer) acrylic paints. I painted in a shade of grey, then gave the figure a very dark wash. The figure was then painted with the same grey base coat on all of the highlighted areas (basically leaving the deep creases etc). Next up lighter highlight was applied on certain areas, followed by one final highlight. Pixels where painted using a couple of grey tones that seemed to match the real thing, I just painted vertical and horizontal lines in different groupings. The final step was a serious of very thin glazes of the dark wash colour to bring it all together.

To be honest,I still don't know if I like the quality of this figure and its' pose. Your painting,on the other hand,is excellent. Nicely done and I like the subtlty of the colors and shading. Brilliant!

Thanks very much Jerry!
I agree with you though, the pose is not perfect. I found it nearly impossible to get it to fit in the Humvee properly, the hands just don't match up to the guns height.

Good job on the camo. You must have lost your eyes in the process, but it was worth it!

Really great effort on this Rob- I think you have captured the look of the camo very well.

Thanks for the kind words guys! I'm pleased you like the figure.
I can tell you all though, that the techniques I used to achieve this were not very difficult, and should be quite easy to pick up. I'll try and do a step by step feature to make it easier to follow. I also painted a couple of other crew figures (sorry for the crappy pics):
