On the top side, the feed arm tracks and direction switch are correct in the bolt top, BUT..where's the cartridge stop? Both the Dragon gun and the K59 have not only the correct tracks and switch, but an accurate cartridge stop.

So....looking at the rest of the parts, here's the truth. The Tasca is pretty good. A+ on dimensions, sharp molding. A+ on including the open reciever bottom. I would say this is at least a good base reciever for a detailed model, but it's not all it was cracked up to be, and it's still not as good as the K59 resin M2, as it forgets the cartridge stops in the feed tray, has no hex shape for the breech lock cam nut, and really doesn't improve any other things which all the model makers leave out, like the big screw slot in the end of the buffer tube, the rear sight assembly (only K59 has a good one), the trigger set with the trigger and bolt hold open/single shot trigger, good molded spade grips, and little things like the top cover latch and back plate latch. To point out more positives, the Tasca parts are sharp, and the retracting handle, barrels, especially the barrel handles, are really good. It's actually above the Dragon model by a good bit, but really not as good as the K59. Nope. K59 still has it beat.

Guys
You might like to try the Voyager Models M2 - comes in two versions (at least), one with 50 round box in etched brass and the other with the later 100 round box.
When I find where mine has disappeared to I'll post a pic . . .
Regards
Rob

The K59 M2 isn't even in production anymore. The Tasca version is still, BY FAR, the best plastic M2. Plus, it's a lot less expensive. Since the set you bought includes 2 complete M2 models. And if don't like the handle, which I can't understand... Tasca also sells a single M2 accompanied by the Adler's Nest metal barrel.

Gary-- certainly an excellant job putting the 50 together. Nice clean work. Two questions: what adhesive did you use? How did you get the air cooler vent to fit around the barrel?
thanks

The tasca m2 is good enough, I think. Much of the details you mentioned are so small that I really don't think they make that big of a difference overall. The hollow cooling jacket is a HUGE step above any other m2 in plastic, except bronco which uses the same principle. The blastic barrel is also equal in quality to a metal one, I think. You are An expert in m2s, and I am not. I guess if you want your model to haveTHE perfect m2, I guess tasca isn't the way to go. But in all honesty, the tasca m2 is certainly good enough
Just my thoughts!

Yeah, true, but I scour the world gathering up K59 kits. You can find them with some effort and dilligence.

Whoa, ok, this doesn't reply to specific posts...
I said clearly, if you're going to add upgrades and PE, the Tasca is really good. I'd use it no problem, because I love upgrades. K59 M2 kits may be OOP, but China seems to have an inventory still lying about and I buy every one I can get my hands on.
To answer the question on building and adhesives...that's one of the best payoffs to using the K59, that round base that fits their resin barrel jacket..don't cut it off, use it. The brass barrel support / jacket fits it. So, just a little thin CA glue around that, and you have a joint without any ooze-out. On the Barrel Depot brass sets, the barrel is a close fit to the opening of the barrel support, machined to mate. It looks pretty good I think.
Hey, this is my opinion. Your mileage may vary. No warranties express or implied. I am not a paid spokesman for any manufacturer. Yet.
But if you want one, the vendor on Ebay I'm currently buying from has just got about 40 more of these (as of 4/20). If you want the link I'll put it up.

Just a note: K59 will have the M2 .50 resin kits back on the market soon. My heart races with unbridled joy!
