Hey Dave,

OH YEAH! Now you got yourself some Tiger tracks!!! Are you going to leave the figure in the turret? If so you might want to think about spraying a bit of dull coat on to take the shinney off him. Overall, you got one hell of a fine Tiger tank man! Well done Dave.

Thanks Gary!

No, the figure is far from finished, and just there for fun and contrast.

I'd did feel that there was a bit too much contrast on the back of the turret, the numbers there look very fresh. but thats already fixed.

Other remarks are always welcome!

Hi Dave,

Fist off, let me say I have no right at all to provide any critique on anyone's work, as I'm just a beginner, returning to the hobby after many, many decades, and am working on only my second tank (actually, my second model of any kind) and it is the Dragon 6838 Late Tiger with ZIm). So take my comments with a grain of salt, if at all. also, I may be repeating some comments already made, as I didn't study them all.

First off, fabulous paint! REALLY great work; wish I could do 1/10 as well. One thing I noted (and this had been critiqued on my build by others which is why I noticed it) is the hatch on the side of the turret. It does not have Zimmerit. Did your kit include a hatch with Zim? If so, you might wish to replace it, though at this point, it might be far too difficult. I noticed that one side of the turret had some appropriate weathering and 'dulling' of the tank number, but the other side remains too bright and new, as does the number on the rear of the turret. Lastly, while the sag in the tracks coming off the drive sprocket looks good, it appears as if the sag toward the rear of the tank needs a bit of attention, as it looks like the track is 'arched' off the roadwheels, though this may just be my old eyes seeing something that's not there. I decided to use Friul tracks to make sure that they sag properly, and the tracks are what I've been working on all day today, myself.

Great work, overall, though, and I could only hope that mine would look anywhere close to as nice as yours when it's done. Unfortunately, no chance of that.

Hi Carl,

First of, thanks for the compliments and don't worry about the comments, that's the critique I'm looking for!

I've you've been working on a model for some time, you start missing the obvious things, so that's when an objective pair of eyes become very handy.

- turret hatch: I can't believe I missed this, and moreover that I never noticed it! First thing I'm gonna do tonight is check that dragon box to see if there's indeed a zimmed hatch. If so, I'll add and weather it. If not, well, then I'm gonna leave it this way since I'm very bad in sculpting zimm.

- the turret numbers, I noticed this when I posted the pictures and already corrected it but didn't post new photos since it was just a small issue.

- the tracks, could you elaborate a bit more, cause I'm not completely understanding what you mean. I do know the tracks are a bit higher on the inner ring then the outer ring... Still trying to find out how to fix this best.

Thanks again, really appreciated!

Hey Dave,

Cool you found a Zim hatch!

You know, upon a second look, I'm not sure what I thought i was seeing on your tracks, as they look perfectly fine to me, in terms of sag, so never mind! I have to tell you that your weathering is just super! I love the oil spills on the rear hull, and you must have done some extreme filtering or something to 'knock back' the camo and blend it into a well faded look. I'm impressed! Your work got me so disgusted with my own free hand camo on my Tiger (which really does SUCK in comparison) that I tried another go at improving it. So, improved, yes. Close to yours, no way! You did a GREAT job, sir!

Did you use a brown filter? And lastly, the only other nit I could mention is that in some of the photos, the finish looks a little more gloss/satin than I figured you might want...did you do a final dull coat on it?

Super, super job!
