I feel the need for a StuG campaign!!!!
Good luck with your resurrection there John!

Finished the lower hull and started the upper hull too.
This was done yesterday, this weekend is going to be tricky to find some time on the bench...

Hey John,
Thats a pretty sweet kit? I like it alot. How many builds you have on the bench right now, 10% to 90% done? or juist started? I am a one at a time build guy.

Hi Gary,
I stopped building a few years ago, and left 3 or 4 builds at different stages.
Then restarted building new ones, about one year ago for Campaigns (it gets me organized.. ) but I didn't finnish all of those I joined...
So I have 3 on the bench, this one, the Panther D & Panther F.
Unfinished I have a Tiger I , a Panzer I from Dragon ( lower hull & wheels done ), a Dingo from Miniart and a 8t half-track from Tamyia.
I left in storage at my old house a Faun Transporter and a Pz2000 (Trumpeter & Revell) unfinished too, the Faun is only waiting for the trailer to get done...
After this I have to shrink my stash... keep building and stop buying

Cool pics! I have an F/8 and a F laying around in a box gettin' all dusty. I will live through YOUR build here and maybe mine will see the light of day!
I like the looks of the F, especially the roof.

Hey John,
The build is looking good man. I agree with Jeff, the F has a killer look to it. You remind me of my nephew. Multiple unfinished builds on the shelf, and enough kits to last 2 life times and then some. Im not saying thats a bad thing, im just saying. Model on John!!!

I know, I started too many builds then quit modelling twice, then came back again... with some other builds, more stash..
This year I made a decision to keep building, shrink my stash big time, cut my wishlist in half... and keep building ...
I'm quite happy with the results 2012:
Finished the Sturmtiger, Panther G, Bergetiger Ferdinand, Panzer II, T-26, Bronco's 221.
Working on the Stug, Panther F & Panther D.

At least you kept those that you had started! There are other more expensive hobbies out there that are not quite as rewarding as model building. And it doesn't always have to be armor (I know, I can't believe I just said that) but taking a break and trying something different is refreshing!

Worked on the fenders, wheels.
My Dark Yellow rattle can died while painting the wheels, so this one is going to be painted old school, by brush.
I did a pre-shading using matt black and a brush..

Today's progress,
Fenders, wheels and started working on the tracks:
Clean fenders
Preshading
Dark yellow
Tracks
Wheels on
Very hard to put the wheels on the suspension arms.
I strongly advice to attach the wheels to the suspension arms before glueing the suspension to the chassis

Hi Gary !
I'm liking it so far, despite the wheel problem that was sorted out. It's a good price-quality kit, no doubt, the fitting isn't perfect, some putty here and there, no Tamyia fitting but light-years ahead of any Alan kit...
Tamyia's Stug B I build awhile back, it's a flawless kit, perfect in everything, execpt the price tag, so in the economic crisis... an Orange box kit os the way to go !!
A metal gun barrel would be perfect, and I'm not a huge fan of these tracks, but let me see how it turns out first
Thanks for watching Gary !!

Thanks John! Im confused these days about tamiyas kits and price vs. Dragons kit and price and what you get in each kit for the cost. I know it sparks debates and the like, and i sur not trying to start one here, but when Tamiya released the Stug III B. with a little metal barrel and tiny photoetch set, it showed up around here with about a $75.00 price tag on it and i wanted to scream! I was dissapointed as its was way out of my budget. The Char B1 bis was $70 something too at the time. That said I still like some Tamiya offerings but man, Dragons got the Stug covered! Anyways, i kinda went on a rant, sorry. I will put that kit on the wish list. I really like it!
Take care John,
Gary

No problem Gary !
The Tamyia kits are quite expensive around here too, 50 to 60 € , I agree that it does not match the contents offering vs price tag.
These Orange box Stugs are a good deal !!
It still comes with a reloading crew & ammo that I won't use.
