Hi everyone,
thanks for the info, I might try it as a second build if
there´s time.
Paul

Side-by-side build!! That's what I hope to do, that is if nothing comes up.

I think it takes the same amount of time to glue 12 wheels on as it will take 24.

I'm going to drop in at the LHS and see if they still have those Friul's they had behind the glass. Maybe I can offer them a deal-deal.

Mike matey ... well the Germans made use of other tanks but the machine which was used for the propose of towing tanks was the Famo 18ton half track ,, 5 of those were used to tow the Tiger ,,,buggered if i know how many was needed to tow the King Tiger
Be warned!!! the Famo makes a STuG look very small, its that big

Oh boy! More pictures?!! Can you handle it?!! A StuG with ANY gun is exciting and the 105 is special to me. It was my first StuG I ever built.

Hello everyone,
disaster has struck. I just found that the StuG F8 with
G side skirts and the MG15 has already been done, the guy
is called Thomas Anderson. Is it o.k. if I do a version of
the same idea, or is that a "Copyright" problem?

Modeling is an expression, and "duplicating others work" is the most extreme form of flattery one can show. As long as one doesn't claim it as their own work I see no problem replicating it as such.

Heck, I haven't done much research on hybrid StuG's and prototypes yet (if there were any) and the only ones I know of was the deception planned by Otto Skrozeny during the Battle of the Bulge with the Panzer Brigade 150 or the F/8 Flammenwerfer.

While I ponder my options for a Stug (& additional stuff), I'm just wondering if anyone knew anything about the action in Hungary in December 44-January 45? I know the events in the west during that time overshadow the events in the east, but I think something like that would be pretty cool

And now the kicker ... I will be ripping out the 105 and replacing it with a L/71 88 and this is a wooden 1/1 scale model the German's made back in WW2

Well Phill, that's neat. Really! Good to see more large scale interest here than just me.

I don't have the pictures right now (right before work and all) but I too have not only a HL StuG G to work up but I have this conversion kit from Profiline to take a HL PIII to a StuG F ... all resin kit. I have all the goodies to make it full R/C too.

Too bad we couldn't have coordinated these two builds at the same time here. Maybe in the future sort of a dueling 1/16th build? Both appear to have about the same amount of work involved.

Could be fun! And by the way ... you did make my day with the pics! Me likey!

Oh i can feel a challenge coming on here and you can count me in matey ,,that would be huge fun

I scaled all that work from the same model which i put with the 1/16th one .
It started life as a RC Panzer III but due to the work needed to turn it into a STuG i had to basically destroy the RC drive system to make it all work with the upper hull ..not to worry tho ,,i never intended to drive it again anyway but its still 1/16th

Hi Mike,
if that´s the way you see it, then I´ll stick with it, heck
it won´t be the 100% the same. At least now I´ve told everyone it´s not a 100% original.
Hi Phil,
nice kit that F from Dragon, it seems like a 100 years have passed since I built it. That 1/16 is fantastic, if there´s
going to be a "conversion build" in that scale I think I shall also take part.

Well, we should do it in a Campaign of such for I doubt you would get too many onboard for a 1/16 build.

I just found a couple more StuGs I must have. The Cyber Hobby StuG III Ausf. E and the Tamiya Finnish StuG III Ausf. G

The later one has concrete armor and the supplemental armor made of logs and add-on armor for the lower hull. I always wanted to paint one like that, now there's one to build as well! Plus, it has a sweet little stowage box on the rear.

@ Jeff....

If you are looking at doing a Finnish Stug be sure to wander through THE site on them....

http://www.andreaslarka.net/

Back when I started my conversion, way before the Tamiya kit, I talked to Andreas several times. He was very helpful and would take a look at what I was doing and give me pointers to make it more accurate.

The 1/16th stuff looks good.... you guys do a 1/16th build and I might have to dig out my old Bandai Panzer IV.... although I don't remember if it is 1/16th or 1/15th...

You're right Bob, I have drooled through that site a many of times but thanks just the same.

And the Bandai? It's 1/15th. I have a couple myself.
