I think getting ten to join could be a mission but on here ya just never know .. if worst comes to worst then we might have to have a chat with Gary and see what he can do ,,he's the big boss on here so it would be up to him .
The thing which will work in our favor is the scales ..not just 1/16 but 1/24,25 as well ..might open the doors a lot wider

Most civilian auto/truck models are in 1/24 1/25 scale so if you include those you would open up the opportunity for people to do conversions

just my $.02

Guy's,
What you mean trying to make 3 or 4 models in 6 months isn't a large scale build?? OMG I thought it was like Mt Everest & then some!!!

I think I may make my StuG builds into some kind of first ever for me. A mini dio or vignette may look better than just 2 tanks sitting side-by-side. A corner ruin, a street scene ... doesn't have to make too much sense (especially if I'm doing it) or have a rhyme or reason.
The simpler the better.

Now that I have the kits I now have the time to think of something and get what I need.

Jeff ,, Since your building a late one and a early one why not do a small dio with the crews getting their new machine or something like that ,,oh another idea is they could also be adding all the extra armour ,like trees and things to the STuG ,,getting it ready for combat .
Just some ideas for ya matey

That sounds good! I like that idea and I'll work on it!
I opened the StuG E kit and it's just as I thought ... easy peasy of a kit. SO, 2 tanks would be necessary to make it a complete Campaign PLUS a few AM things are slowly making their way here to spruce up and change the G a little.
I had no idea I would like the E as much as I do now.

Back to the M1117 build.

Oh I am! No doubt! I'm already on step 7 of 14 of the build ... not bad for a few hours of work and having fun. I really need those 2 PE sets and sagged resin wheels I ordered RIGHT NOW!!

The tank Campaigns are going to be twice as easy as this wheeled vehicle is slowing me down.

But, it's a refreshing change for the moment. I need to stop the unsought for now and take some progress pics before it's too late and it's built before I know it.

Yeah, I think what I will do is not have the 2 StuG's together but have a showdown between the StuG G and this Sherman kit I have by Mini-Craft. It's an early A1 Sherman and I could have the 2 meet in the corner of town after getting caught off-guard by the German tank.
Or just after getting a round put in the Sherman? Kinda like a scene from
"Band Of Brothers" when the Tiger ambushes the Cromwell and Shermans.
Yeah, yeah ... that's the ticket. Sorry, I'm working on only a few hours sleep thinking this one out.

KILL THE SHERMAN JEFF!!!!!

the second choice is the right one ..the Stug got the kill shot or try this ..make it a sherman which is already dead and the Stug put another round into it because it thought it was still alive ..then the damage can look much older ,,might look pretty good then buddy .
Right i am now off to bed ,,need to sleep i think

SLEEP? I can get all the sleep I need after I'm dead!

Oh, it's 8 in the morning here ... must be late for you.
Once these 2 Campaigns get kicked off in July they'll be less talkin' and the pictures will be flying left and right around here!
Okay ... more coffee!

I'm planning on doing my StuG III ausf. E as a vehicle from StuG Abt 197. This unit used captured Soviet lend-lease Stuarts as tow vehicles. I'm planning to go conservative but with a possible diorama with an option to add a M3. I might hold off on that one for a later time though.
Jeff, you could go with a damaged Sherman but limit the damage to a thrown track. Enough to get the crew to bailout. Then have the StuG crewmen examining their kill, in particular looking for spoils of war. Maybe have multiple StuG crews discussing how to split the take.

Thanks Alex for the suggestion, but I have a few months.

Who knows, it just may depend on if it's a full moon the day I decide or what.
The E is going to sport a white wash finish ... that much I do know, so that may determine which way I go. That, and what platform or base I use and whether I have to buy one or I make it myself PLUS I still want to get some stowage for the StuGs so it ain't over with yet.
This is almost more fun deciding than the build itself!

Jeff & Phill,
No problem. Just tossing an idea out. I'm typically all over the place with ideas. That's why I'm sort of keeping my own plans for this one vague because I know I'll change my mind a few dozen times before the campaign starts.
If you want to damage up a Sherman, you might want to do that for the Knocked Out Campaign and then use that Sherman in the StuG diorama, so you'd use elements of two campaigns together with each other.

I
MAY just go ahead and build the E RIGHT NOW!!!
The box is doing the same thing (wanting me to open it and commence building it) as the T19 was doing, that is until I put it away.
There's nothing hawtter than a white washed StuG and I do have plenty of kits for that Campaign,
so ...

Received in the mail my first set for the build!

So this may be for this Campaign or the other one.

Which will it be?

For some reason I get this disturbing mental picture of Jeff building his E with Barry White playing in the background.
You going with the kit's scheme for the vehicle from StuG. Abt 202?
By the way, I like that resin mantlet cover.

OH YEAH!!!
"Can't Get Enough Of Your Love, BABE!" And I do have a collection of R&B too.

I may not follow the instructions scheme but might buy another set of decals, and I know I have some color plates to copy from.
But it will be white!
And that whole StuG set was only $5.46, cost $4.50 to ship, came from Poland and only took 10 days to get here!!
More than likely it will go on 2 tanks.

Jeff, the kit winter scheme might not look bad when washed, weathered, and the running gear mudded up. As is, it just looks blah.
The white paint does look pretty nice. I did a StuG IV last year in a winter scheme. It really changes the vehicle profile lines.

You're on to something there for I have the same plans. I need to find this one picture I have saved from years gone by ... it is so awesome I'd like to replicate it.
I'll need to search for it, upload it and then post it here.
