You chose a very nice pic to replicate here. I too, have always wanted to build this one.
They always taught us in the Army, never pick a postion that draws attention, like this tank.On the other hand, you see pics from WWII that show troops using knocked out tanks for postions a lot! They make nice bunkers. But good targets! LOL
Nice job so far and this will look cool when done.

Interesting subject Augusto!
At the Budapest siege in the winter of '44-45, the defending troops also used knocked out T-34-s as fire bases. The tanks were hit on the top of a railway embankment, then holes were dig under it, and put some MG42-s. The assaulting Soviet marine troops suffered very heavy losses, and was delayed for weeks.
What product do you plan to use for the mortar team?
Istvan

Dear Augusto,
What a technically perfect paint job on that T34.
However, do keep in mind that this tank might not have been that old. The picture shows a lot of sand and dust on this war machine, more likely from the bombing and/or shelling. Rust, even considering the quality of Russian war paints, is less likely since it takes some time to occur.
Nevertheless: I am curious about your dio,
Success!

Good job posing the figures. You really captured the moment of action. I hope the gunner turns around the mortar bomb before he drops it in the tube though! That would ruin his whole day!!

Hi Augusto,
A really cracking project. The T34 is looking excellent and I like the concept very much. Mortar team are looking good too and this should make a very active and interesting dio.
Excellent stuff.

Hi augusto,
You are absolutely right, the worn look add a lot to the scene, suggesting the struggle takes place here since months, if not years... It might b e not perfectly historical, but could be very emotional. I like it very much! Also good job on the mortar team.
Jerry's point is good, I would suggest to turn the bomb in the gunner's hand, as it seems he will drop it into the tube upside-down, and in this case the crater would be filled with a lot of flesh...
I'm really looking for the groundwork also.
Cheers,
Istvan
