Okay, I admit it. I have become hopelessly frustrated by the chain and ball for the Merk. I am taking a step back from it right now...
So, I am going to enter another item in this campaign if okay. I will do the Trumpeter Type 79 Chinese 105mm gun tank.
Obligatory pics...

Raw plastic!

Thanks.

Hi all, hangovers gone thank the "hair of the dog".
@Philippe: nice priming looks really smooth, is it rattle can or airbrush?
23$ is alot my friend, I paid that for my Sherman friuls and they are even 2 pieced items.
@ John K: you are a brave man, I donīt know what is worse to build, the ball and chain or that Trumpeter thing

@ Kevin: wow thatīs a lot of resin there dude. Cool choice though. We, in our Chieftains used to envy those Leoīs because it was said that the storage bin on the back of the turret doubled up as a bath tub

.
Now Iīm going to swear (#&5XXX%****&)

.
I have just run out of 0.5 mm brass rod. Iīm 23 track pins short, and the LHS has Monday afternoons off.

See you all tomorrow
Paul

Okay, got the bottom motorization holes filled and starting the suspension. The road wheels are pretty bad on my kit. The seam is 'off' so lots of sanding.
Pics so far.

Have to add two strengthener strips on the bottom near the large oval fill mark. Had to take them off to sand the filler.

Hey Paul! It will be masked with 3M 2090 tape and airbrushed. I have a great reference in the Tankograd book documenting UK Fprces in Berlin. Should start with the camo this weekend. Can't wait!!!!!!

Thanks for the kind words Paul, Philippe and Kurt.
Philippe----Love the colors on your -72 camo. Very nicely done.
Kurt----I can definitely get a schematic for you on the turret rebuild and the other hull details. Unfortunately, I am kind of an unorthodox, fly-by-the-seat-of-the-pants model builder so all I have for drawings so far is haphazard sketches on post-it-notes that you probably would not be able to decipher. I will be working on it this weekend and I will get you something usable, plan-wise, for future conversions. The engine deck was probably the easiest part because you can actually use the kit deck but you have to cut the engine grills and re-angle them and regroup them and then reinstall them on the tank.
Best wishes, Ian

Great job on the work so far and if they weren't so expensive I would put friul tracks on all my AFV's. As to my T-62 Build for this campaign, It's a good kit but some of the smaller details suck and I am currently scratchbuilding corrections. I also got a different turret for it because the one in the kit is inaccurate. More pics this weekend.
