Several countries, including Germany, Norway, Denmark, and The Netherlands, use/used the Wolf in Afghanistan, in both LWB and SWB variants :
German SWB :
Norwegian LWB :
Danish LWB :
A simple Google image search should yield more pics...

Thanks Frenchy. I did a Google image search, but none of the photos were listed as being in Afghanistan.

Well I was going to chime in and say yes.... but you must've gotten Frenchy's spidey-senses to start tingling lol!
Revell's 1/35 kit should have decals depicting a vehicle serving in Afghanistan.

Thanks Jeremy. I'll be building this one for a campaign with the final result being depicted as on Tamiya's 2A6.

So, was the Leopard 2A6 used in Afghanistan? I know that German forces were present, but I'm not sure if they fielded their mbt.

Hi Matt,
definitly a NO to Leopard 2`s in Afghanistan. The German government still considers AFG a Peacekeeping/Stabilisating operation. While the soldiers desperatly wish for some heavy firepower, the heaviest vehicles down there are the Marder 1 A5 and the GTK Boxer. While we retired the Flakpanzer Gepard a while ago, some soldiers demanded that we should use the 35 mm guns for fire support, similar to the Russian BMPT. Maybe this could be a subject for a What-if-model.
As for the Wolf truck, yes their are a lot of them in AFG. While we started with then basic unarmored 250 GD model, most of the patrol vehicles are up-armored now. As for camo, you can standard NATOflage, modified NATOflage with with the green replaced by sand and Umtarnfarben desert camo.

That's what I thought. Thanks for the tips on the camo and uparmoring the Wolf. I'll have to see if I can find some references of one uparmored.

Hi Matt,
if you search for an up-armored Wolf, go for Lkw Wolf mit Spezial-Schutzausstattung SSA or Sonderschutzausstattung. But note that all up-armored Wölfe have a hardtop. Tha latest armored version of the Wolf is the LAPV ENOK 2. It is all around armorplated with a mine protection.
Cheers

I was away for a while and I'm scratching my head why till now this excellent reference wasn't mentioned:
http://www.tankograd.com/cms/website.php?id=/en/index/publikationen/missions_and_manoeuvres/GECON-ISAF.htm
(preview pages on the bottom)
Many Wolves in it: normal and air portable, uparmoured or not, some with really interesting cargo bodies (probably DIY), others with interesting different DIY wire cutters, some towing special trailers with 6 service dogs, PsyOps ones with loudspeakers, white Military Police vehicles and red ones of the firefighters, etc.
