I decided to try my hand at building a couple of humvees.
Both are based on the 1/35 Tamiya M1046/M1025 kits.

The four door M1038 has the soft top conversion from Calibre 35, engine from Tac Scale, armored doors and gypsy rack from Blast, suspension from Calibre 35 and wheels from Armorscale. It will be receiving a Pro Art SINCGARS radio.

The M998 conversion and wheels are from Calibre 35.

I was originally planning on building these as Desert Storm era vehicles (hence the older pattern wheels) until I saw a photo of an M1038 with hillbilly armored doors similar to the ones made by Blast. I'm still undecided about the M998, Desert Storm or an armored gun truck with a mk19?

They look great Sherb, go for the armored gun truck with a mk19. I like the rib work on the hood and love the engine, need to get one myself.

Happy Modeling,
Joe

The older style tires are still in use. I photographed some on an Arkansas National Guard HMMWV early this year.
