Lots of work today...

This is the kit and I added a metal gunbarrel from Lionroar.

Started with the turret, for a change
As you can see the interior is basic.

Here's the gun.

So no interior for this one. I started working on the turret details, hatches...

Only thing missing are the spare tracks holders & MG42, and of course the spare tracks.

I have made a start on my Kingtiger for the Kingtiger campaign, I will be building the Sd.Kfz. 182 KINGTIGER Porsche turret from DML (6312)with the addition of Cavalier Zimmerit, Friul tracks, photo etch upgrade set from ET Model, and possibly a RB Model barrel.
I started on the rear of the tank by removing the moulded detail with a razor saw for the addition of the resin zimmerit detail. Removing the detail with the razor saw was a breeze and which requires the minimum of sanding to finish up. I then cut the zimmerit piece from the sheet with a scalpel and lightly sanded the rear face of the zimmerit and the rear panel which was then attached with PVA glue and allowed to cure.

Nicely done John for a start and you beat me to the first in progress report. Please could I ask all members taking part in the campaign to consider running a Blog thread as well as in the campaign thread. This has a number of benefits as more members will take the time to check your work and provide feedback who do not usually take a look at the campaign threads and as such we may also attract more entries.
What I have done is to start a blog and then copied the post into the campaign thread so that we all see how each other are doing, and of course we can chew the fat and take the mickey in the campaign thread as we did in the Panther campaign.

The Jagdtiger I am building has no tracks along with a few other things. I was wondering what are a good set of tracks for my kit. Looking for a late war battle width set. Looked at Model kasten and they have about 4 different sets, Fruli 2 or more. Any others that I should look into and obtain? Thanks

Darren,
Hmmm... I've never done a blog before so it will just add to the adventure.
You'll have to excuse me--English is my second language after learning
'merican first--but what does 'take the mickey' mean?
Thanks.
My build will start this weekend or next week:

It wasn't my fault ,honest,it wasn't.Although I will admit that this photo thing and I really don't seem to get along very well

As you can see by the date and time I was ready to go bright and early

Have a roadwheel
The rest of the parts
Some nice PE with some REALLY small parts
This is my first Armor Pro kit and I must say,I am impressed with the detail. There is only one problem.and that is the color of the tracks.Fleshy, tannish colored tracks, really?I'm not looking forward to painting these and having any of that color coming through

P.S. Jeff S... I saw in another thread you got a new PC,sweet, what did you get?

Hey Jeff! don't worry about ds tracks. imo they are the best rubber band tracks out there. I didn't have problems with the paint, you just have to take your time while spraying.

Today I noticed the LionRoar metal gun was quite different from the kit's weapon...
Since it was glued with CA.. oh well, that's an excuse to build another KT after this one
Today's progress:
More details on the turret

I'll work on the other side tomorrow.
And also did some work on the lower hull

John there are two types of barrel for the KT a single piece barrel which I believe was used on the Henschell turret or production vehicle, the one and two piece barrel was used on the 50 Porsche turreted KTs. Is that what you mean by different?

I have continued to remove detail from the hull and turret in order to add the Cavalier zimmerit panels which has the removed details attached to the sheets in resin. No real hassles were encountered with the exception of the front of the turret where I had to add heat to the pieces in order to get them to conform to the face as it curves in two directions which is why I still have a panel to add in the pictures below. I have also included a picture of the razor saw I used to remove the detail in case anyone was unsure what I was referring too.

I also started work on the hull and as can be seen despite being one of DMLs newer models it is not without issues such as push out marks that need to be filled. You will note that the drive cogs are from the set of Friul tracks I bought for this model which will now be replaced with the kit supplied parts as the Friul tracks I bought while used on this vehicle type are not the correct type for the vehicle the model will depict. While I have not included the a picture of the idler wheel DML has the inner and outer wheel of the idler numbered incorrectly as A9 should read A11 and A11 should read A9.

Lastly I started assembling the gun in order to test fit the resin portion supplied with the cavalier zimmerit set.
