Here ya go guys, this is the Italeri M-4 sherman,it came with snorkels, but I decided I will save them for the DML sherman. This also has A JR barrel (will send money order out on monday thursday Bob), Tamiya rubber tracks, and leftover markings from the academy M-10. Model is painted in MM acryls, and drybrushed with testors silver,oh,the pics make the silver ALOT(special emphasis on alot) more distinct than it really is
oh,also, the hedrow cutter is scratch built,I don't know if this is historically correct.Did cullin hedgerow cutters follow any specific design or were they made up out of knowhere? THANKS!

Any comments and CC is welcome!!

Nice little shermy you got there .....the only thing I would fix is your tracks look too long ....maybe cut off a link or two...just my opinion here ...nice weathering on the hedgerow device.

Nice job AW. I like the plow, good work on the scratchbuilding. I don't believe they followed any specific guidelines for those things but I could be wrong. I reserve the right to be wrong :-) . (++) WEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Wow, that barrel sure got to you fast. I've sent letters to folks in town that have taken longer to get there.

Looks pretty good. You certainly didn't waste any time finishing! I was concerned about you matching the finish, but it doesn't look bad.

Lordette:

Congrats on your Sherman. The nose on pic is pretty cool, and I'll echo Toadsters comment on the scratchbuilt cutter, (the Jordi tube is nice also). The fifty looks good with the open ammo can. Nice touch.

If you want, you could take some gloss black and paint the turret copula's len's to make then pop a bit.

Good overall paint scheme by the way ---it's OD baby (lol)!!!!! Keep it up Dave.

Dave

The cullins device was a field fix to the hedgegrows problem in southern France. For what I've read there was no real standard design for the device. The book "Death Traps" by Belton Y Cooper discribes the invention of the cullins device, and how it was installed. Cooper, who served as a ordnance officer with the 3rd Armored Division during the war gives some great details not just on the cullins device but on alot of what it took to keep an Armored Division on the move.

O young one.
Did you drill the holes like I showed you?I agree on using some gloss black on the TC's vision glass. Also, put chrome silver on the headlight bulbs. The Cullin device is fine. There were many variations on the theme.
Good overall job.

As I undertand it, the Cullins devices were anti-tank devices cut to shape in hte field.

The builld looks good. I'm not big on silver drybrushing, it always looks too bright. Remeber, theses beasts were iron, not stainless steel and exposed metal doesn't stay shiny for long. But that's my personal r=preference. If you're hapy with it, that's all that matters.

Very nice model Airwarrior. Nice faded olive drab appearance suits this well. I agree with The Bear, the tracks are very loose looking and are not sitting on the return rollers. A link or two less would probably do the trick. The outside of the tracks look nice and dusty but the inside is still very black and unweathered. A wash of some earthy type pastels and Thinner would help this. I like the addition of the Cullin device ..... have you got dimensions you used? I wouldnt mind adding this myself!!

Here ya go plastic!

TRIANGLES: 2cm long, 1.3 cm high, and just do a straight line from the top to bottom.Do this three times
BACK PLATE: 1.3 cm high, and 3.5 cm long
TRIANGLE ON BOTTOM OF MIDDLE CUTTER TRIANGLE: 2 cm on all sides.

Hope this is of some help

Actually,it is black, but more flat than gloss,I should probably go and brush on some gloss clear, but, wouldn't the co,or be silver,to show the mirror backing on the periscope?

yes I will do this,I was thinking of supergluing them to the rollers and Idler.but decided against it.

Looking good Lordette Dave, you are improving every day.
One point; maybe you should tone down the redness on the track teeth with an spray of buff?
Good work,

Andrew

Man, I hate missing Sherm posts! Looks pretty good AirW. Like the other's have mentioned above, the only real improvement item would be the tracks.

Oh,And sorry about forgeting this, but on the bottom, their should be a 4 millimeter wide piece and2.5 centimeters long, this attaches to the bottom of the flat triangle, and extends onto the bottom hull.

Great looking Sherman. The hedge row cutter is very nice. Watch out because scratchbuilding is additive. The fifty looks right on Keep up the good work. Looking forward to seeing more of your work..l

Saw something on the History Channel that said the Hedgerow cutters were improvised from the 'Rommel's asparagus' and other anti-tank devices that the Germans left laying around to slow the allied advance.
I like the Sherman and hope mine measures up whenever I get to it.
Nice work
