hello everyone.
Was playing around with my project tonight.
Decided to do a bit of playing around and went with a Tiger Strip 3 color camo, Don't think it is quite correct for this build, but I don't often have a chance to build a kit that I'm not all that worried about how exact it will be. After all this is 1/144... lol..
I think it will look better after the track work and weathering but here is a photo. Also my brush painting isn't that good.

I am starting my build for this campaign. The venerable old Fujimi 1/76 Hetzer. Looks like a decent little kit although the age is showing in the chunky'ness of some of the details.
The decals are also looking next to useless. No problem though, as I have a ton of 1/76 decals in the stash

Thanks.. :>
and what I meant was that the kit isn't one that cost a lot, like a 1/35 kit would have.

Aloha All:
I will be joining this campaign. I was reading through the latest Squadron catalog mailer and saw that the 1/144 Trumpeter AAVP7A1 and AAV7A1 were only $2.99 each, so I figured I could afford that and it might be fun to build something that small.
Anyway, the order has been placed, so I expect they'll arrive after a week or so.
So far the builds look great.

Aloha Again,
The mail worked pretty fast and I received the AAVP7A1 yesterday and started in on it.

The ridiculously complex instructions:

The assembled piece:

Gaps I need to fill before gluing on the bow plane:

Hopefully I can fill the gaps next week and start painting.

Zon, glad you could join ! Those little Trumpy kits are aluring arent they?
the financial commitment is small, as Delbert also notes, but you can go all out to get a nice finish, I look forward to seeing your progress!

Here are a couple of in process photos of the 1/700 scale IJN Furutaka Heavy Cruiser.

The hard part comes now of painting the deck the "wood" color and everything else the Dark Grey and not get one color on the other.

That's my hometown ANG squadron. They transitioned to the F-16s from the F-4s right before I got out of high school. I need to find that kit. I did the Hasegawa 1/32 149th TFW (as it was known back then) F-16 and that little 1/144 kit would be a great bookend.
Anyways, I finally found something for the build. Was going to do a Dragon 1/350 Smart Kit of a WWII US Destroyer but this was on sale yesterday, and I spent a fair bit of time in the mid 1990's kicking these guys out of the stern gate in the Pacific.

Hello,
Its been awhile since my last update. Anyways, I've primed the base, and proceeded to basecoat the T-34.

Rummaged around the spares dump and managed to find some fairly decent balkenkreuzes. Here where its at now:

Next is to seal the decals with a gloss coat, and proceed to a winter whitewash.
Till next update.
Cheers,
Tat

Tom Moon, that's lovely! the small scale water line model suggests fleet and diorama building, are you thinking of looking for more of the series?
Tat Baqui, glad to see you forging onward. You got quite a nice looking T34 from the 30+ year old kit. The winter white wash will be most evocative.
Matt Smith, welcome. Ive seen that kit for sale and often wondered about the prototype. looking forward to your build. There are of course appropriate AFV kits in 144 to load it with, but one thing at time!

This is going into a group project. I just had the one part and it will be a part of a much larger diorama. When I get the pictures of the finished project I'll post some here.
Thanks,
Tom

Here is where my build is after having been stalled for three weeks. Next is the base coat and then the ambush scheme by brush. Not an easy task in this scale but worth a try.

Hello,
Following the application of hairspray, I went on to apply the whitewash by handbrush. Some progress pics:

I'm letting it sit as is for now -- still undecided whether to take more of the whitewash off. What do you fellow campaigners think?
Hey Jesper, that is one neat Hetzer. Looking forward to your ambush scheme!
Cheers,
Tat

Thanks for the comment, Tat.
Regarding the T-34 I would remove a little more white wash around the edges where most of the wear and tear will probably happen. This is especially true for the turret.
I have added the first base coat on my Hetzer. The next step is hand painting the camo.

Looking good Jesper -- I like how its taking shape.
That period picture sure looks very much like one of the camo patterns on Tamiya's Hetzer. I will have to agree with your wife on the schurzen -- at that thick an armor it will have no problems getting itself stuck in mud!
Per your feedback, I took off a bit more of the whitewash. Its currently on a coat Future, once dry I'll move on to weathering. Will post pictures soon.
Cheers,
Tat

wow, some nice progress, guys!
That little Hetzer makes me smile.
Tat, the white wash is very impressive, I look forward to seeing the refinements.
And Irvin Kohler, that's a handsome little boat, interestingly curvacious. Its excellent to have a submarine in the mix in this campaign, please carry on.
