Hi,
A update from my first Tiger I ever build.
Its Academy`s Tiger late with Atak zimmerit and Tamiya`s tracks (thanks Brian)and what scratchbuild items, such as the side fenders, gun cleaning rods and the protective exhaust plate and some wingnuts here and there.
And its my first Tiger that I have build

Very Nice Ronald ....... did we expect anything less?
Everything is looking nice and well, but I dont think your are finished yet, so theres no point, pointing out the obvious. One thing I can see from the pics is the towing ropes need to be fixed down around the turret as they are laying a bit proud!
I think you have made a great job of all the scratch built skirts and exhaust plate. Brings the model alive and adds character. Nice work so far.

Nice Tiger Ronald,
Mayby it need's some weathering but overall it looks great. I'm currently building one myself, Academy's early type. I will add some pictures when it's finished.

Very nice indeed Ronald, when does the crane get fitted? Sorry couldn't resist it... #:-)
I like the bashed-up side fenders, looks like something in the field not something from the 1944 Berlin Motor-show. Pardon me asking though, but isn't a bit of a deviation from your usual themes?

Excellent work so far Ron!!! What's that it's sitting on? Some type of Potter's Wheel, or something that turns? If so... excellent Idea for working with the airbrush.. I gotta get something like that.. I used to have a kitchen one, but it broke when it fell off the workbench (was cheaply made).. Now I miss it and need a replacement..

Hi Tuna,
Yes its a kind of a potter`s wheel, its served many years as a painting table verry handy when you working on youre model or small diorama.

Good stuff Ron! It all looks great, and the fenders and exhaust look good! How do you rate the Academy kit overall?

I think its almost so good as Tamiya only cheaper price
The only thing that i have done is sanded the upperdeck a litle for a better fit.
One negative point, that are the tracks, I have replaced them with Tamiya tracks.

Hi Ronald ........ on that point....
Were the tracks a vinyl length or indy links? I recently bought the acadmy early tiger with interior and it comes with indy links .... just wondering if IŽll need to change them. Could you expand on this a little please? Thanks.

Hi Plastic, the late version have the vinyl lenght tracks and as you have noticed the early one the indy tracks.
From what I have seen of the Early indy tracks Ithere are a few sinkmarks to fill from what I remember.
You can use them, ore replaced them by Fruil tracks but thats youre choice and money

NIce build only thing I would comment on is tow cables never seen them stowed like that.
Germans being so neat in their stuff but I guess would work.
Do you have reference to this way of stowage?

Hi Jeff,
I think this is posible, not al war time pictures give a good vieuw of the enginedeck with the towing cable`s, but its not common.
I have at home a origenal German TM of Panzer recovery and there is also a picture of a configuration of the cables thats also differend #:-)
And maybe I made a mistake but I like it this way and its something complete differend
