This is awesome stuff. I am doing more OIF subjects and would like to try this for one of my projects. I wonder if solder would work - it is easier to bend, etc. I don't know if it comes in the right thickness though.

Bob,
Thanks for looking at this. I do not have any experience using solder for the tubing, but only to connect the steel wire together. I can share that I did try the softer brass wire stock in .020 and .015" diameter. That was a disaster due to handling damage while trying to add other frame tubing, seat covers, etc. Just too soft for me. The stiffer wire, even with the .015 stock is sturdy enough to pick up and press on. Just my experience so far as the photos just above are of chair number six for me. Still learning. Best of luck and please share how it goes.

Hi Bob. I took the liberty of emailing you better copies of the latest chair info from the forum thread here. Sorry for the email mailbox busting size of the attachments, but I have limited PC skills here. Enjoyed seeing your past work and only hope this gives you a gentle, friendly push to do more. Feel free to contact me. All the best. S

Stuart, thanks for the emails. Much appreciated. I may try this for my Bradley display.

Wanted to share these photos of the .015" wire stock frame with a coat of the black rattle can paint.
and the finished chair with an N scale train decal flag logo. Also the laundry tags reminding you not to use this chair for holding hot drinks or skydiving...
I like the more delicate looking .015" stock better than the original .020" wire frame... hope this helps with your camp chairs!

Very impressive, plus I was going to have to build a camp chair for my End of Days 2 build! Very good stuff indeed.

Wanted to post a couple of comparison photos of the chair with the .020" wire stock beside the .015" wire frame. Subtle difference, but I like the thinner frame.

Of course things always look better in context. This is where I place the camp chair in my scene of the 200th Engineers SDNG 2003 as seen in Prime Portal website.
Happy hobby days ahead everyone!

Have tried 2 times, with 3 chairs each time... I think my fingers are to thick.... but I am getting better
Right now my work is consuming all my time, but I will continue until it is right on the spot... And then make a couple just to have some spares

Great to hear from you Per. That is the best advice I can offer on the chairs ...is to try try again as I am doing. Wishing you much success and looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Thanks Captin! Wonder what a larger version chair scaled to 1/25th would look like in the back of your Predator Monster Truck? lol Really enjoyed seeing your work that you have posted.
