Hi Guys. This has been sitting on the shelf for a while, and I took some photos today. Almost finished ... just the lights to do and anything else that may crop up ....
Its the AER T38 with airwaves little PE set. Not the easiest kit in the world to assemble and also horrible link and length tracks, but looks neat when complete. The PE set called for the drivers hatch to be cut away to a curve and make it an earlier model, so I did that, but then added the large gun which was an offering in the kit ..... not really sure if these are compatable, but what the hell ..... I think its still neat.
All comments, critic, and points of view welcome!

I don't know alot about this tank, but it looks very cool. I like it better with the 20mm gun - (it is a 20mm, right?). Is it an amphibious tank?

Not sure what size the gun is ....... AER instructions are totally in Russian but it is an amphibious tank. I liked it as well compared just to the zero detailed machine gun.
Tazz ... its a Russian amphibious tank from pre and early WW2

Looked real neat, plasticdude, job well done! The 20mm gun turret is much attratctive than the original MG one. Good choice.

Cool-----how do you do your mud splatter?---very effective.
The figs are also really well done.
An usual subject that you've really nailed with this build.
This is why I nominate you for UOM.

Thanks for the nice comments guys ....... Im glad I went with the gun now!!
The splatter of mud is basically a mixture of white glue, spackel powder, static grass, a little fine sand and brown acrylic paint. Mixed up and stippled on roughly with a brush. As this is an amphibious vehicle, one would imagine it to be wet and liable to pick up lots of dirt. I stippled on different earthy colour and then again with pastels when dry to give it a uniform dusty colour but visibly lots of colours together ...... which is lost a bit in the photographs. this method works well for me because with a wet brush it can be tidyed up and brushed off detail again.

Good job with a near-impossible kit!
I think the gun is 45mm and the smaller stick tries to represent a 7,62mm DT machine gun.
Great job with weathering and painting! Only those strange discs around the turret stick in my eye. What are they? Look too big to be just rivets around view holes.
I know your pain since I made one half a year ago. I replaced the machine gun with a Model Kasten detail part:
Itīs nice to build a crappy kit every once in a while, you learn to appreciate the ease of building good kits and you remember again what you are paying for...
Cheers,
Toni

What a neat little cutie there PB! Very nicely done!! I have this kit, opened it up, had a look around, then closed it right back up again. This kit deserves to be slapped together, then taken out back and shot.
I too am interested in where the figures came from.
Good job with yours!!

Thanks again for the nice comments guys ....... I feel the same ... there is a sense of achievement when a crappy kit is finished. It may not be a tamiya fit in places, but the worst part was removing the indy links from the sprues, which were thicker than my wrists. But it is my principle to never let anything beat me.
The crew were taken from the Tamiya Russian tank crew at rest. Earlier tamiya quality ... a bit plain but very usable and fairly nice poses. Kit # 35214.
Im sorry I didnt replace the machine gun now Envar. When I see yours it makes a lot of difference. I dont think its too late yet to get the knife out!!! The "rivets" were placed there as I used another model by a Chinese guy as reference, and I thought it added something extra to a very detail-less turret. Maybe in hindsight it was silly.
At the end of the day, I bought the kit and airwaves PE set for less than $10. It was my first time to use indy links other than fruil and first time to use a full PE set (less than 20 pieces). I needed some experience before I butchered a decent kit.
I bought a maquette SU-76M with eduard PE set from the same guy, and thats the next kit lined up for practice with PE and indy links. Im building up to Tamiyas Tiger E late, with Aber PE and cavalier zimmerit, and I definately want to have some experience behind me before I attempt this beauty!
