I've had all those thoughts running through my head every time I open the box, and I didn't realize that it was that old! Wow! There is a good book out there published about two years ago that has plans for all of the A7Vs produced and would be very useful for anyone wanting to build a good representation of one.

Yep - mine too keeps coming out for inspection, only to go back in the box! Some day I'll pluck up the courage...

(I still can't believe Matt's already built one, and still finds himself looking at another one. Some folks never learn! )

Though it's a dog of a kit, I enjoyed building mine. WWI just isn't a money maker (pretty much only the "old school" companies produce(d) WWI tanks - Tauro, Emhar...). If I ran across another....yeah, I'd do it again.

Thanks for the review-perhaps we'll see a new kit when the 100 year aniversary of WW1 rolls around in a couple of years.

I bought this kit when it first came out. It was horrible then and if compared to todays offerings, would be infinately more than horrible now.

I can't believe how old that kit is! I built one about 10 years ago but I had no idea it's was made in 1980. Wow! It's always been one of my favorites. Yeah, I had to wrestle with it, (The machine guns look a little "off" and man, I hated those tracks!!) but it looks so cool!! However, I build Tauro's Fiat 3000, too, so I may not be right in the head.

Minor adjustment required. It is from Tauro not Taurus Models. Two different companies. This lower rating is dragging down the Taurus Models overall rating.

Thanks for the review. Think that I'll pull mine out of storage and build something different for a change. Weathering here will be decidedly on the "more is probably not enough" scale....

On the other hand, it might make a good piggy bank and the money saved therein could buy the modern Meng kit...

The Takom kit is far and anyway a better kit, but the old Tauro does build into a decent looking (if not correct) model. Here are some pics of the one I built a couple of years ago.
