Greetings,
Your diorama is great and please don't take this too hard, your years of reseach and investigation do not come close to any time spent in Vietnam. The tour of duty for the Naval Special Warfare Group members to include a SEAL detachment and boat support team was 183 days, out of the 183 days, 175 of mine were in direct enemy engagement along with the SEAL det with which we worked and were assigned to. Here's the breakdown, one SEAL det, one LSSC and one MSSC to get the SEALs into and out of an operating area, the mission was set up to send in the SEALs by helo (Helicopter Assault-Light) or on the above mentioned boats. All missions were living hell and in all missions we were shot at, one such daylight mission my MSSC was hit and blown out of the water by two RPGs, the boat was going fast enough to be OK but the 7 man crew including myself were knocked out by the concusion. I could tell you of every day but there is not enough room on here. So please refrain from saying you researched Vietnam riverine warfare when in refering to Special Ops. As Mino mentioned he thanked me for the info I will be happy to send out as long as it is not classified. Best of luck and if you have issues with this post please by all means take it up with any other Riverine Special Operator, I'm sure they can lend you the same hint I did.

Mino, you are quite welcome and please note that I sent a reply to the latest viewer of your diorama about researching Vietnam, I'm sure he meant well but as we all know research is not a substitute for being there. I meant no offence to him.
Thanks for showing off you great skills.

One of the good things about making Vietnam war dioramas is that we are lucky to have some veterans that can explain to us how it was. So my research in the last years was especially about stories of the people who was there.
For example, I was lucky to contact to US Army LTC (ret)Hugh Mills looking for information about the OH-6a helicopter of the unit he commanded in Vietnam in 1972, the aeroscout platoon of c troop 16th Cavalry regiment. Thanks good we have internet ¡¡¡
Reslly the reason of my offering is that the hometown of the poster (Santander) is very close to mine (Logroño) here in Spain, so we can meet personally if he wants to do that in a modeling show this month.
And on top of that, my offering was about modelling skills especially in Vietnam dioramas (groundwork, plants and so), not only about historical accurate.

Hey guys dont discuss about it, its obvious that the real experience in the battle field is the best information you can have about something, im agree with john about it, but its obvious too, that a good and great compilation of second hand information is a good help too, and when that information is at only 120 milles from me, is beter than good. Be friends boys, when i need some onformation i ask both goys. Im very pleased with your oppinion of my works.
