I like the missile ideas. But how about combination AA/AT? Blank off the turret ring, put a loading hatch and a commander's cupola with a Sagger or TOW launcher going one way and a zsu-23 the other.
Or an Afghan bargain basement zsu-23 with a pile of Stingers cobbled together.

This is actually untrue. The Panzer IV was renowned for its spacious confines, which in the latter half of the war might be to a more normal size with the weapon in it never changing calibre size.
Compare it to French tanks which were renowned for their tiny turrets, and you will understand.
