Supposedly my new Harrier canopy is on the way in the mail so since there's an extension I might be able to squeak through here.
Best wishes
Ian

Ian - hope the part arrives because the plane is looking good
Stephen - Lets see some progress on the JP and get it across the finish line. It's a fun kit
![](../modules/SquawkBox/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Jeff - I saw the Rocket on sale at Squadron for $8 and almost grabbed one but my wife says no more models so I must obey (for now). I can see your close to done with the masterpiece! The camo looks good on the Sturmtiger
Another shot out to Gary for requesting a 2 week extension??

Thanks Chris! After breaking my back from sitting still and my hand crapping out on me from holding that brush for so long... it better not fall over!

Painting a rocket is FAR MORE difficult than a tank, even a 1/35th scale tank!
Did we get an extension? If so, I might do something with the Abschussplattform.

Thanks guys, I'm okay with the way it came out. A lot faster painting it by hand than using tape.
But, if we have more time I went out and bought some cotton and some orange paint and was wondering if this idea will fly:
I have some brass (or maybe styrene would work better) to elevate the rocket from the table and conform the cotton to look like the propellant burning off.
Or maybe some yellow too? Any better ideas guys?

Chris lol
Jeff great line painting. I've seen people do smoke with cotton different ways. I think just use the site google for smoke and you'll see something you like. Fire or flame maybe too. You could have it flying horizontally and have a pin I n the side sticking out from the wall?

hi Jeff, i say run some fiber optics threw the center of the cotton [red+orange+yellow]and see if it makes a glow effect, don't shoot me it's just what came to mind.

Chris. What are you making? I can't remember if I saw a photo of one of these before or not. I'm thinking there was one around the end of the war. Do u have a link to the pic?

Hi Chris. I can see it now. Just the drivers box to add. I made one before with the iron division conversion. I didn't realize it was the late stug 3 superstructure and had the grey plastic in my head like it was tamiya B...pain meds have me loopy. The knee is moving pretty good so far I think. I did the other knee in 2008. Tomorrow ill try some couch modelling while elevated on ice. Congrats again on your dio!!

Chris, that's really a beautiful diorama. I think the figures look great.
Got back from Scotland and saw my AV-8B replacement canopy had arrived in the mail. Also applied the first coat of paint which is also my primer coat. Just a few problem areas to putty and sand.
In the words of Sgt. Horvath, "Back in business---DEFINITELY!!!!"
Best wishes, Ian
