Thanks again guys- I don't know how I managed to install the tracks backwards It was a small but worthwhile bit of work to correct them- at least the ones you can see

004
I still have to tweak the weathering on the corrected tracks to bring them into line with the rest of the tank.

Here's a pic with the awards

You really deserved!

That proves you don't absolutely need a DML kit to get some great results

Congrats indeed

Pat, really well done on the award, the model and scene looks great. Especially love the unique look and contrast the burnt out track gives.

It proves you don't absolutely need to have the tracks on the right way round to win a best in show!

On the subject of the tracks, how did you manage to remove the track pads?

Lucky for me IPMS judge on quality of build and finish and not historical accuracy although I have seen photos of tracks on backwards

Kudos Pat on the award and the project too! I do like the "lean" on the left side, indicating some suspension failure from the fire adding to the realism of the build.

Nice work! Anymore final images of that side?

Outstanding Pat, and congrats! It's great to see you taking on more projects like this I wouldn't worry too much about the springs, they wouldn't sag if they were only exposed to a flash fire. They themselves would have to be burning for quite a while to get hot enough to become weak enough to sag. I would definitely add that tow cable for visual interest.

Really excellent work Pat. Very much an ambitious weathering project and you nailed it perfectly.

Congrats on very well done piece of work.

Thanks Jeremy and Dave

Of course the temptation is build everything as a burnt out wreck now- but since I'm building a 1/35 Motor bike combination there wouldn't be much left

With all due respect, what is being depicted here is more than just a flash fire if both the rubber from the road wheels and the track pads are missing from the fire plus all the paint is removed from the left side... looks like fuel aided as an acelerant, there would be more than enough heat produced there for the springs to sag, especially under all that weight.

Not that it is essential feature but it would happen. Non the less, I still like the results.

Al McNeilly pointed me to this, a fantastic job. Hope "Game of Thrones" gave you some more work to buy kits! I should be back in Dublin again this Fall.
