I wonder if Heller will do the same and create Link-and-Length replacement tracks for their 1/72 AMX-30 kit? Probably not for the amount they would likely charge.

Thanks for the review Sean. Some points to add if you don't mind.
First, Phebus owner has passed away some months ago. Nobody knows whether his company will resume production or not so don't expect putting your hands on AMX30 tracks from them.
As a side note, only the newer tracks were still in production when Alain died.

Second, I have the both sets of tracks by Heller and Friul. I was a bit disappointed by Heller's offering. As you mention it in the review, you have a lot of pin marks to remove and this become as tedious as for the Friul tracks.
But, the main flaw is that Heller molded the rubber pads upside down. Check against one Friul track link to see what I mean. Each link has a kind of "protection" bar above the V shaped rubber pad just like on the vynil kit tracks.
On the Heller indy link, the V has been reversed which is wrong.
Here is a picture of the Friul and the kit original track.


Anyway, this won't be really noticed by most modelers and probably by most of the jury members of a contest too.

Really? Sorry about that, I had absolutely no idea.

On the bar, you're right, but with luck it won't matter too much. The bar is actually a guard for the link pin, so one sits just about directly above each pin. The way the Heller tracks go together has this effect. The bar is in fact connected to the link as you say, across the wider part of the chevron, but the difference is very small in 1/35. I promise not to look if you won't either.
