I think it`s time to finally show what I`m planning to built for the RMG campaign.
I`m going to built The attic of the house at the Zwarteweg 14 in Arnhem where Roy Urquheart was trapped for 12 hours during Market garden. He went To Arnhem himself because of the bad radio communication and he was looking if he could get any form of Information when he got there they came under fire and had to hide In a house.. This became the house at the Zwarteweg 14 in Arnhem
Ok here is some sort of visualisation I have made to show what I have in mind
I start with showing you a pic of quite a lousy model of wich the manufacturer claim it is the exact same house where Urquheart sat during the Market Garden campaign (wich it isn`t) in the next pics I also show you why
all the houses had a small window on both sides of the roof for the attic this wa sthe window where Urquheart peeked out regularly the company that this pic is from forgot to include it so I had to draw it myself as you see
Another thing is that the houses on the Zwarteweg were so called: "Rijtjeshuizen" wich means that they are built in a row and they stand all together. So the windows on the sides does not really make sense as you would be sitting in your living room and through the windows you could see what you neighbours are eating so the dark grey area shows that that can be dropped too.
I will call the dark grey part:
I`m only going to built the Red part of the house.
The whole idea will be built like some sort of Puppethouse construction. It will not be a complete Shadowbox idea. The top side of the roof is a Hindge wich makes it possible to make one roofpart moveable creating some sort of door wich allows you to look into the inside of the Attic
Here is the plan:
Well this was it for now hope you guys like it

This is great!!! I'm going to make the street itself. I will make a blok of houses and a German tank on the street with some Germans on it. The scene from a bridge to far is the one I'm going to make!!! It's funny that we make the same street!! Anyway, Good Luck and I can't wait till the finished pics!!!

Sorry about my late reply
First I want to thank all for the comments I really appreciate them.
Right at this moment I`m in the calculating stages at this moment and I`m doing a lot of research about the buildingstyle of around 1940. Especially the rooftiles are important as from there I can calculate the whole part of the building I`m doing.
LWF indeed thanks for the help with translating the Dutch Word Scharnier to Hindge really usefull.
Erwin I was thinking along the same lines as you did and indeed the toppart will be a Pianohindge.
Laurie I`m looking forward to your progress too and indeed it`s fun to have two totally different dio`s showing both a part of 1 event in the same street (what a small world it is)
I think that is the fun of this Campaign. Though you have a big area to choose your building subjects a lot of dio`s will link together as some sort of story.
Ah well see you in the next update
