Hi, I would like to share this diorama I'm currently working on. Another blast from the past - I started this in 2002
Anyway, nothing like a competition to get me off my ass and finish it.

Sorry for the incomplete reply, I was refering to the rack in question next to the fire ext. It is for the crews helmets.

Pat, the base was indeed cast in resin. I started out by sculpting some high density styrofoam for the undulating waves, then covering that with Faller Hydrozel (it's like a fine celluclay). Once dry, it was sealed and a silicon rubber mould was made. The actual base is cast in clear epoxy resin tinted with tamiya acrylics (a little goes a long way).
Walley, I appreciate the info on the helmets, thank you. Do you know if the helmets had liners and straps? Also were they stored right side up or upside down?

Hi Sonny, the helmets had liners and straps,and I am pretty sure stored upside down in the rack( liner facing up)

Just found this one. Wish I had caught it from the beginning. I really like the concept of rescuing downed pilots. Looks like they will have to swing round to catch them. Great work on the figures and excellent work on the pbr!
