I normally model in 1/72nd or 1/76th and this is the first time in about 30ish yrs I've worked on any 1/35th stuff.
Anyway for ages I've wanted to try some of my designs out in larger scale and here's a couple of progress piccies ..... a steel wheel/IR Jagdpanther and a fire support vehicle based on the PzIII/IV Hummel chassis.
First time I've built workable metal tracks too ..... (more pics on my blog)

Brent mate ,, I don't know what the second model is but i like it
Its taken a rather boring model and turned it into a very cool looking model .
Think i am going to have to build one of those to ..its too cool not too .
The painting on it is a perfect match for the shape of it and you did a bang up job too ..top notch work mate

Thnx for the interest guys .....
Did a little more progress this avo, fitted the rear plate along with a crew door, an access hatch and ventalator to the turret roof and a kubelblende mg mount to the front hull. Also shimmed the turret ring as I wanted to raise the ball turret by a few mm to give it a very degrees on depression for when it's being used on ground targets.
Included a couple of pics of it's SPW partner which is on the build list to do in 35th after this one.

Brent.
I have to agree with one criticism you got from another site, I also think the turret is a little too high and should sit down on the superstructure. But hey, minor really. I think this thing is cool as hell and can't wait to see it painted. Especially if you can pull off the same quality of finish in this bigger scale as you did in the smaller scale.
Really A+ builing and painting. Hope to see more.

Brent, what an outstanding concept. Just a great change of pace from one armor piece to the next. Looking forward to seeing it painted and weathered.

Thanx guys, it's really been fun to be honest, back to the way I used to enjoy modelling.
Thnx Bill, my brother wants me to make him one for his collection so yeah there's a chance to do a few things slightly differently, I tend to build like this hands on rather than to a plan and so the first one is like a bit like a real life prototype.
So thinking about it, I'll add engine decking to the top of the hull in front of the turret for maintenance access. This will deal with the hatch and the ventalator which were a lash up to be honest. I'd probably also add the complete front plate from the donor PzIV Kugelblitz kit instead of just a kugelblend mg mount. It fits with the uparmouring and would add consistancy to the front face.
The turret is deliberatly spaced high though. The idea is to give it enough hieght over the hull to allow the weapons some depression when engaging ground targets.
Anyway thnx to all for the positive comments .......

I agree that's a good idea to allow for the depression that you mentioned as it turns an AA into a very useful anti-infantry weapon. That spacing makes a horrible shot trap though, you may want to create a ring of armor around it to flesh out that gap between the turret and hull. Keep the pics coming!

Tackled the commander next, big figs are something pretty new to me so compared to some on display I'd class it as adequate, not setting new standards but he looks ok inplace ....

Thats some fine figure painting you've done there- your standards seem pretty damn good to me ! The splinter camo looks awesome as does the skin shading- particularly his hands- they look very natural and I think his pose suits the vehicle nicely. The painting and weatehering on said vehicle is excellent too- the chipping looks proprotionate and controlled- and the whitewash gives the standard yellow some good interest and contrast. Really excellent stuff Brent!

@DaGreatQueeg – Brent,
Good on you Brent, these are very imaginative and inspirational builds you’ve put together. My favorite flavor are 72nd scale builds, but I wanted to try out a ‘what if’ in 35th scale and now have a line up of these large scale kits in the stash. Your concept vehicles are well thought out and quite workable machines in their own right.
Brent, you have all around excellent figure painting skills. Now that you’ve stepped into the larger scale stuff it won’t be easy to stay away from them anymore, hihi.

Whoa... I really like this as it's something you don't see all the time.
I also like your choice on the osketten tracks as they make the AFV much bigger and meaner too.
Nice work!
