I plan on doing the Hobbyboss kit shortly but I have question before I get started. I noticed on the hobbyboss kit that the cab body has large rivets on the side, however when looking up picture of the real thing you don't see those large rivets. Is this a mistake by hobbyboss? or is this some type of armored cab that was later added on? I would prefer doing one from 2003 just after OIF and heavy invasion equipment began being pulled out of Iraq.
Would I then need to sand down those rivets?
Thanks
Jim

The 1:1 M1070 cab panels are riveted indeed, but Hobby Boss rivets are way oversized. You can compare them to the real ones in this hi-res picture on Primeportal :

I have a question myself for the HETS
With the CPK installed, are the original doors till mounted, or are they removwed and replaced with the armored doors?
The Eduard instructions are hinting at no original doors

I'll second Cody's question and add,
what happens to the CPKs after the truck and or unit returns to the states. Are they left on and are they repainted in NATO 3 color.
Does any one have pictures/drawings of the standoff blast plates on the doors?

Many advance thanks

All you want to know about about the CPK (and maybe more ) can be found in the TM for it :

The original doors are removed BTW...
There are two more pic links for the door blast panels in this earlier thread :
