It'll definitely will take some getting used to and I'm not quite sure I think it is an improvement.....yet.
Just a question; why would it be relevant to see how much views a topic has, for instance? Personally I think all these coloured boxes next to the topictitle are distracting; green, blue, orange, with or without flames...
But I do appreciate your hard work on keeping the site up to date and up and running, Jim!

Ok, probably another dumb question, when I choose to Follow a post, where can I see just the posts I am following or when somebody else posts?

You can't. Yet. Just to say this again. It's not fully finished yet. I will be working on the lp.php page to integrate ALL the changes I originally intended. However since the current form is (IMO) better than the old page, it made sense to launch the new page with what is has in place.
Just a note about the limited initial list of posts. Yes this is needed to keep down the overhead on the server and the database. There is a lot of data being drawn upon for a page like this and keeping the initial range of posts limited is what makes this whole thing possible.
In addition to the filters I am going to add there may be several 'custom' settings that you will be able to set (if logged in) that will let users turn off (or on) features they may not like. Some people like to see things (like views, followers, etc) and some may not. However it will likely take me a lot longer to implement these changes as it will mean making updates to the user settings pages and that is further down my list. Next on my list is fixing homepage content display for the ENTIRE network, so, not a small thing.
Cheers,
Jim

I LIKE it! Great job, Jim. I like seeing how many views a post has gotten.

I somehow managed to miss the preview completely but I was happily surprised with the new latest posts. I think it is awesome. On the PC screen the fonttype shows up quite large which I assume will be great for those whose eyes have a bigger mileage then mine. But what I love is that the latest posts look brilliant on my Samsung Note which I use a lot to browse the interweb through the past months.

Not a big fan of change but this works for me-I like that it can be set to Armorama only and doesn't slip back to entire network when I come back to the latest posts page.
And the large font is a plus

Jim, before there were symbols for reviews, features. Could it be done in the new version?

Can somebody please define "favourites" for me?
When I seen this button ... I thought great ... now I can group the forums I like best ... Armorama, diorama, figures, Russian and scratchbuilding. Is this what the favourites is meant to be? How do I do this? Sorry for the dumb questions ... but its not clear to me.
Other than that, I have no problems with this new change. Love the scroll down thing instead of having a huge page of small texts to start out with. If I can set my favs like I imagine .. as mentioned above ... this will have been the ebst update ever!!

Yes they could. I will try adding them back. The issue with them right now is they are styled for viewing with the smaller text, etc.

Frank - to set forum favorites right now you would need to go to the homepage of each forum you visit and click on the "Favorite" button (right top) to add it to your account. I want to make an easier process for this on the main forum page most likely that would let you scan down the list and favorite them as well. Stay tuned on that if you decide to hold off favoriting for now.
Cheers,
Jim

I have added some of the filter options to the LP page. Will be adding a few more when time permits.
Thanks,
Jim

I find I am really starting to like the look of the new page, it is much easier to see what posts have occured since I was last on. Great work Jim.

Hi Jim
I am not a great fan of the new screen at the moment, but that may be due to the fact that it is so unfamiliar to me !
I tended to look at subject titles on mass from all the associated forums and browse out of curiosity from what took my fancy !
As some have said before, the new format appears to me (just now anyway) as a little distracting with the numbers to the side being too overbearing and taking the eye far from the subject matter which used catch my eye before !
Just a personal view and no detraction from the massive effort needed by you guys to keep the forum fun, current and appealing to the masses !!!!!!!!
Keep up the hard work Jim !!!!!!
I will keep the faith and persevere with the new format !!!!!

Hi Jim
I have given the new "latest post" a go but find it a bit unwieldy !!!!!!!!!!
Is there any way of adding a "go back to previous format" for those who thought your previous hard work was better ????????
Thanks in advance
Nige
