Looks great! I especially like the fact that you can easily see which topics you've contributed to before.
Cheers!

I will hopefully have this fully operational by the weekend. It's mostly working as of this hour, but I still want to add some filters and more options for saving favorite sites and forums.
Cheers,
Jim

I rolled this out since I got the favorite forums bit finished today. I still want to add a favorite site option and some other one-time filters like...
- your posts/topics you've posted in
- topics you are following
- content posts only
- exclude content posts
- blogs
Following posts will become the new means to subscribe to a topic. Users will get some kind of in-site notification of new posts to topics or content you are following as well as a n option to get a daily email with a summary of new posts/content. I may still offer instant notification as well for new posts in topics.
Cheers,
Jim

I guess I'm in the minority, that's okay I'm used to it, but I find it very distracting and confusing. I guess I'll be visiting here a lot less often

Just out of curiousity, how do you set your Favorite Forums?

There will be some other easier ways to do this down the road, but for now if you go to the main forum page, you should see a favorite forum button on the upper right (opposite the forum name).

Well... if you like it that much I could always keep it accessible for those who have a hard time with change. I do have to chuckle a bit though since I had people say pretty much the same thing when I made the old page.

Is it just me, or are there FAR fewer post displayed on the first page? Though the scroll to autoload is nice.
I liked very much being able to look back over the past days postings in a page or two.

Mike,
This is the trade-off between the older cached page (which only refreshed every 10 minutes) and this fully dynamic version which can show you up to the second what is updated. A cached page also presented problems with people seeing user-specific info (like what posts you have posted in, etc).

Oh yeah that button, it is not working in Chrome. I notice is is showing as button in Chome, but has a fancy graphic in IE.
Kevin
Edit: Neither is the "Follow Topic" button.

Very nicely done, Jim. I especially like the autoload option.
Kudos to you!

Probably just a cached CSS file in Chrome. I develop in Chrome so it should work if all pistons are firing.
There may be a delay too as sometimes CSS is late loading so everything has to completely load, etc.

I'm usually hard to take new stuff around here, but I have to admit I like the new "latest posts" page. I just wish the list of topics was a bit longer.
One more thing, is it possible to have the "/news", "/reviews", etc bars to differenciate the content, instead of the star denoting all the content?
